I installed the game today and everything went fine. Now, when I start the game my whole screen is "wrongly placed" meaning that the top of the screen suddenly appears at the bottom of the screen. It's like the whole screen has "moved" few notches up. I see the top of the game screen in the bottom of my actual computer screen. That's really annoying as you can imagine if you understood what I'm saying.
Can someone help? Has someone experienced the same kind of "screen positioning" problem? Has this something to do with my taskbar? This is quite annoying, if not game ruining bug. Thank you.

I believe that new version of windows and modern monitors support different screen settings for different applications.
Have you tried playing with your monitor settings to move the screen? (although I'm not sure why it would scroll over the top). If you can set that up, then it migth solve the problem. Otherwise, I'd suggest updating your display drivers.

open up your civ3.ini/ptw.ini/c3c.ini file and add the lines
Refresh=xx -- where xx equals your refresh rate and
KeepRes=1 -- so the game keeps your res.
I've noticed on a bunch of computers here at work that when you change res & refresh rate it makes the picture appear to be in a different spot.
Now, why that would not happen on your first game and not your second I don't know. did you install any updates or anything like that?

Ok, I got it to work. I played with the monitor settings, as easy as that, and it worked. Thanks all for your advice, this community is surely one of the best I've been a part of.
