Hello, I recently bought Civilization III Gold Edition from and I am wanting to know can you use the expansion pack CivIII Conquests on CivIII Gold? Any help will be appreciated.

I was trying a trial of CivIII Conquests on www.Trygames.ca (BTW, It is a game store site, NOT A WAREZ Site.) and I am planning of buying C3C and I have noticed that the trial doesn't work on C3Gold and even says so on the site. Also, it says it is only compatible on a "Activemark" version... What does that mean? Does it mean I have the wrong version? Does it mean I need to buy CivIII and PTW seperate?

However, I have noticed that the C3Gold Box Advertises C3C and mentions it is also available on the back of the box and on the manual. Not only that, it also isn't mentioned on the box or the manual that C3C is not compatible. So,
I am pretty much stuck. :(

Can anyone help me with this. I am not pulling anyone's leg here, and I am definitely not a pirate! I am wondering that C3Gold is not as what it is cracked up to be.

I thank in advance for anyone in return.

Many Thanks,

Crash Overide04 (AKA Crash Overide9207) :)

I had no problems installing C3C with my Gold edition.

The downloadable versions of Civ3, such as that available at Trygames (yes, I know it is a legitimate retail site), have been shown to have problems with Conquests, not to mention just patches for the games. Generally speaking, you are best off buying the CD version of the game(s). :)
