View Full Version : Engage Internet Lock Mr Sulu Bozo Erectus Jul 21, 2004, 09:04 PM In Zonealarm, whats the difference between 'engage internet lock' and 'stop all internet activity'? Turner Jul 22, 2004, 12:34 AM One will still allow programs access, but it's a very short list (even more restrictive than the 'normal' setting.) and the other basically disconnects the computer from the internet. Or so the computer thinks... The connection is still there, but nothing gets in or out. Now, this is how it was way back when I used it. I know there have been several versions since then, so I'm not exactly sure if it's still like that. Bozo Erectus Jul 22, 2004, 08:00 AM Thanks Turner thats more or less what I thought. Would PTP things (like Kazaa) still work with 'internet lock'? Dell19 Jul 22, 2004, 08:08 AM I would guess not... Bozo Erectus Jul 22, 2004, 08:09 AM If not Kazaa what sort of programs would still have access with internet lock? Not spyware I hope. hbdragon88 Jul 22, 2004, 12:44 PM You can set programs to still function even with the Internet Lock still on. In Program Control, there is a little column that has a padlock on it. Click the empty space for whichever program you want to allow them to still function when you use the Internet Lock. Bozo Erectus Jul 23, 2004, 11:34 AM D'oh! I never checked that out, thanks. |
