I've been away from GOTM for quite a while due to work pressures. Sorry if this is a FAQ, but is the QSC still being scored and results along with comparisons between game play styles posted?

The QSC backlog has been scored, and the results are (AFAIK) in the data base - thanks to Space & AlanH. :) We need to sort-out the way we'll format them into results tables. The comparisons between playing styles are a bit more difficult to automate - we might end-up just extracting some metrics, and letting people interpret them themselves (eg defenders / city, attackers / city, culture buildings built etc). Can't guarantee that we'll have this done in the immediate future, as AlanH basically does the web formatting stuff, and he's also busy getting the Global Rankings updated! => He's a busy man (fortunately he seems to only sleep about 2 hours / day, and zero hours / night) :mischief: Dianthus Jul 23, 2004, 03:26 AM The comparisons between playing styles are a bit more difficult to automate - we might end-up just extracting some metrics, and letting people interpret them themselves (eg defenders / city, attackers / city, culture buildings built etc). If you're interested I could create a settle-location piccy such as this from QSC 20: http://gotm.civfanatics.net/qsc/qsc20/images/3_city_build.jpg ainwood Jul 23, 2004, 03:35 AM We were discussing this. AlanH is keen to automate it, but walking before we run is probably preferable. It would be great if you're keen to do this. :) ainwood Jul 23, 2004, 03:40 AM Can't guarantee that we'll have this done in the immediate future, as AlanH basically does the web formatting stuff, and he's also busy getting the Global Rankings updated! => He's a busy man (fortunately he seems to only sleep about 2 hours / day, and zero hours / night) :mischief:  oops! I just checked, and Alan's done more than I realised! Actually, people are waiting on me again, the great big holder-upper-guy! Got me a busy weekend again. :D Dianthus Jul 23, 2004, 03:42 AM I'm generating a .crp file for each Classic/Conquest GOTM anyway, so it won't take that long to generate the settle-location picture afterwards (that's what CRpSettleLoc does!). All I need is access to the .savs ... :mischief: Email10 Jul 23, 2004, 04:44 AM  oops! I just checked, and Alan's done more than I realised! (I guess.. ;) ) Does this mean that the QSC results will be up after the weekend?? samildanach Jul 23, 2004, 05:13 AM He's a busy man (fortunately he seems to only sleep about 2 hours / day, and zero hours / night) :mischief: I think we all appreciate how much effort Alan puts into the GOTM but did you need to tell us how much effort he puts into his love life as well? :D AlanH Jul 23, 2004, 07:11 AM Just don't tell my wife :mischief: DaveShack Aug 01, 2004, 10:03 AM Thanks all for the update! I had forgotton I even asked the question, until someone asked a question in the chatroom which sent me back here. Great, since the QSC is still alive I'll keep taking notes. :D And thanks to all the staff for doing the mountain of work it takes to keep GOTM going. :worship: |
