Hi,

I'm trying to get civIII:Conquests to work on my new XP machine. I've re-installed civ and then civ: conquests, but when I try to start it up I get a quick black screen then \\civ\conquests\sound.dll is not a valid windows image file.

I've updated my sound, video drivers, even used the windows updater, but can't seem to get anything differentto happen.

Any help would be most appreciated...

Have you tried patching to 1.22f? Do you have admin rights for the XP account?

I'm running XP, and I can get C3, PTW, and C3C to work perfectly. (A little slow when theres lotsa units, but thats probsy normal) Will the problem be fixed if somebody gave him a copied file that he is missing? If not, Patching seems to be the only thing i could think of
