Well, it's finally election time. Science has a decent field this term. Eight candidates. Some new, some old, some running for more than one job. I'm old in this game, yes, a veteran of DG1. However, I am not running for anything else this election. I could if I wanted to, but I am not. I am only running for Science because I feel I can steer this game in the correct direction. Please, use your vote wisely this election. Vote SaaM for experience and vision. Vote for me, because this is the only job I want and the only speech I'm giving.

SaaM

Well I am only going for one election too, but I joined at the beginning of DG4.
I encourage the citizens to vote for someone only in one election, otherwise you may waste your vote.

And good luck to my other candidates.

Note that the threads now appear before polls. It's a wierd vbulletin feature. ;)

Anyway, this poll may need a run-off if the need arises due to the number of canidates.

there is a large number of 2-3 vote candidates, it seems there will have to be.

Go for the most experience! Vote for me! I was the original Science Leader from the first DG. I am running for Trade, but that was to try something new, aside from Science. I am dedicated to the Demogame when I have something to participate with. To let you know, the Science Department will never be idle while I am in its leader position.

Vote for expeirence, Vote for Civanator :).

yikes... this is a lot of competition. I've been around since term 3 DG 3, though i've lurked since near the beginning of DG2 (before i registered my account here).

This is the only election im running in. I think the first techs we research matters on how our start turns out, and ultimatly, the citizens are the ones who decide, but i think our best bet for most cases would be to research literature first thing, in order to get a tech monopoly and to have access to the Great Library.

Seriously, though, vote for SaaM.

Im declining participation in this repoll.

And let me at this time express my disagreement with the entire repolling process as outlined in the relevent thread except in the case of a tie between candidates.

Chieftess
Jul 29, 2004, 06:12 PM
Because there's a double tie as of this post, there will be 4 canidates repolled.

TruckingPete 7 11.67%
Rik Meleet 11 18.33%
Stuck_As_a_Mac 11 18.33%
Civanator 7 11.67%

There still is time to vote, so things could change slightly.

Donovan Zoi
Jul 29, 2004, 06:22 PM
Actually, since there is now a tie for 1st, only the first two need to move on to the runoff poll. Or, if Rik or SaaM ekes out a slim victory, we should live with it, consider it a lesson learned and move on.

Chieftess
Jul 29, 2004, 07:20 PM
Because Rik and Stuck broke out into a late lead (excluding Immortal), only 2 canidates will be repolled. For a while, it looked as if this would be a really tight race.
