View Full Version : Term 1 - Election for Governor of Province #1
Chieftess Jul 26, 2004, 07:26 PM Vote who you think would do the best job. This election runs for 72 hours.
Babbler
Noldodan
falcon02
Zarn
The winner of this election gets to name their province, designate a capital city, and design the provincial flag.
Sarevok Jul 26, 2004, 07:51 PM Go Zarn!!!
Civanator Jul 26, 2004, 07:51 PM My vote goes with my old friend Noldy :D
Babbler Jul 26, 2004, 08:55 PM I like to thank any one who voted for me, all two of you (so far!:)). All let me repeat me: if any one has not voted yet, vote now and vote Babbler. If I were elected, I would focus on key infrastucture improvements (temples and barricks) and producing lots of offencive and defencive units, as to wage our wars and defend our province and empire. And above all, I would consult with the people as fequently as possible.
Cyc Jul 26, 2004, 11:26 PM Go Noldodan!
Ankka Jul 27, 2004, 04:50 AM Go Zarn! Vote for Zarn, people! Vote for the Catholic Republican!
BCLG100 Jul 27, 2004, 06:48 AM Go Zarn, GO ZARNIA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Civanator Jul 27, 2004, 09:02 AM Go Noldodan!!!
Comnenus Jul 27, 2004, 11:52 AM I had to go with experience on this one. Noldodan all the way!
Zarn Jul 27, 2004, 11:59 AM I had to go with experience on this one. Noldodan all the way!
I have experience in Domestic affairs as well. I was the Domestic Leader and governor of a few provinces. I was also mayor of a few cities.
Falcon02 Jul 27, 2004, 12:05 PM RECOUNT, RECOUNT.... the ballot was deceptively structured.... many people accidentally voted for Noldodan and Zarn instead of me and didn't realize it!!!
MUST COUNT THOSE HANGING CHADS!!!!
Who would really vote for them anyway? ;)
j/k
;)

Heh. I'm suppose to be the wise guy.
Your being such a Ross Perot in this election, anyway. Stop taking away the votes. :p
Edit: I am now losing yet again. Noldy is on vacation or something, and he is still beating me. *sigh*
CivGeneral Jul 27, 2004, 01:02 PM Heh. I'm suppose to be the wise guy.

I still have yet to learn how he does that.

Well, I remember my First election for Military Leader, it was Charis vs. Me and the votes were 9-13 respectively.... and Charis had even announced he wasn't gonna be able to particpate that Term.
Epimethius Jul 27, 2004, 05:51 PM I encourage everyone to vote for Noldodan, simple because he has far more experiance than anyone else when it comes to governorship. Something like 11 total terms as governor in three games. He's more qualified for this than everyone else put together. :p
BCLG100 Jul 27, 2004, 07:14 PM yes but can he stand up to naming a province Zarnia????? No?? Exactly Go zarn ;)
Epimethius Jul 27, 2004, 08:38 PM No, in fact he's planning to name it something in elfish or something like that.
But other than that, he's got experiance out the...um...well, he's overwealming experianced. :p
BCLG100 Jul 28, 2004, 09:28 AM lol elfish, Zarnia--> Zarn ;) i dont want elfish i want ZARNIA!!!!!!!!!!!! :)
Immortal Jul 28, 2004, 03:29 PM :mischief:
BCLG100 Jul 28, 2004, 04:30 PM who can say they dont want Zarnia? GO ZARNIA!!!!!!!!!!!
we only need 4 more votes and Zarnia is in the bag.
Epimethius Jul 28, 2004, 04:34 PM No, but if Noldodan is elected then I still have a chance at Domestic.* Even if the province is named Ainole-en-blah-de-blah-with-lots-of-umlauts-and-accents-ole. :p
Besides, he's got more experiance than everyone else combined.
* I've watched the polls very carefully, and the reason why he is ahead is how I wasn't around at the start. Before I was unbanned the polls were 12-2, so had I been there from the beginning I'd be winning now, because he wouldn't have the early lead. Which is really, very angering.
Zarn Jul 29, 2004, 12:38 PM Keep on voting people. I'm only two votes behind.
Let your voices be heard!
I answered your questions in the nominations thread, if you need to check.
Vote Zarn!
Zarn Jul 29, 2004, 12:42 PM No, but if Noldodan is elected then I still have a chance at Domestic.* Even if the province is named Ainole-en-blah-de-blah-with-lots-of-umlauts-and-accents-ole. :p

I was the Domestic Minister, and I had to make builds, because of a lack of governors (and was a governor and mayor). He most definately does not have more experience than everyone here combined, even if you only consider Domestic type jobs. I'm not saying he doesn't have experience; I'm saying he isn't the only one with it.
Comnenus Jul 29, 2004, 12:46 PM This race is getting really tight, and not much time to vote! Get your vote in now before it is too late.
But wait!, there's more...

Noldy (Was it me who gave him that nickname? Vets?) is winning, so you don't need anymore votes. I do. :p
Black_Hole Jul 29, 2004, 02:38 PM No, but if Noldodan is elected then I still have a chance at Domestic.* Even if the province is named Ainole-en-blah-de-blah-with-lots-of-umlauts-and-accents-ole. :p

a few points,
i wouldnt say he has as much experiance as everone combined, zarn and falcon have been around for very long.... also dont get angry at the mods its not their fault u got banned
personnally I hope that nolodan takes domestic because domestic in the first term is very very important for settling
so nolodan if you win both governor and domestic which willl you choose?
Zarn Jul 29, 2004, 02:47 PM Thank you #18 (and the rest of the people who voted for me)! God bless your heart (but only if you want it ;))! Black Hole?
One more!

I already voted for you the first hour the poll was out :D
BCLG100 Jul 29, 2004, 03:39 PM CMON ZARNIA!!!!!!!!1, you know if you win and dont call the province zarnia i will be very annoyed :p
Cyc Jul 29, 2004, 03:59 PM Noldy (Was it me who gave him that nickname? Vets?) is winning, so you don't need anymore votes. I do. :p
Hehehe. I could have sworn it was me that coined that name.
Epimethius Jul 29, 2004, 05:07 PM I would like to once again encourage everyone to vote for Noldodan. This is not a matter of Zarnia v. Gondor or whatever. And if it were, I'd have to abstain, because neither is Japanese, one is egotistical and the other is just wierd. This is over who is most fit for the job. And the answer is, unequivically, Noldodan. He has served ten terms in three demogames as governor. I don't know how many Zarn has served, but I would bet its a lot less than ten. People don't like democracies because of idiotic stunts like voting for a name. Show that you're an educated electorate, and that you deserve the right to vote rather than have electors, and pick the man who is right for the job.

I'm not running on the name. If you read my posts, you would understand where I stand.
Noldy and I actually get along very well. I'm pretty sure he believes as well as I that negative campaigning is not the way to go.
edit: Cyc: Maybe so, as I can't even name all the positions I had. Hence the 'vets?' Maybe I just called him Noldy too much at one point. :p
Provolution Jul 29, 2004, 05:47 PM Zarn, your civic nature is well respected, under all circumstances we will cooperate well, and you may in due time reconsider my candidacy this term. Besides, you actually campaigned on issues, something Noldodan never did, so this is deservedly a contested vote. Anyways, I am glad you did not judge on pre-term legitimacy like Globo did.
Wish you the best
Zarn Jul 29, 2004, 06:53 PM There is roughly a half an hour left, and we are tied!
This would be more fun, if Noldy was here. :(
@Provolution: If you do well, you get my vote next time. It's how I vote. ;) Oh, I believe Noldy can't be here, but I think he should be back for the term, IIRC.
Epimethius Jul 29, 2004, 08:37 PM I'm not saying your platform consisted of saying you'd name it Zarnia, I'm saying that the appearant reason everyone voted for you was that. ;)
And the poll is now closed, with a tie. Looks like a runoff.
bigmeat Aug 02, 2004, 02:32 PM i wouldve voted zarn, because he's the republican candidate
