View Full Version : Multi-Team Democracy Game: Forming Teams

Since things appear to be moving smoothly in the process of making this game a reality, we might as well get on to the next step: forming the teams themselves.

Any potential participant of this game may form a team. That team could be based on a theme (ex: Knights of CFC, The Soviet Union, The Imperialists, The Donsigists (:p), etc.), or a gameplay ideaology (ex: the builders, the warmongers, etc.), or any other idea you may have. There aren't any limitations! (Other than, of course, keeping it all within forum rules.)

To be admitted to the game, a team must have a minimun number of initial players. For now, we will set that threshold to five, though that could change.

Feel free to discuss any ideas you have for a team, and when you feel like you're ready to try to form one, start a new thread for it.

I shall join.

Or should I form a team and wait for the people to join? :hmm:

Shall you be admining this, Oct, or shall you play yourself in a team? :)

I'll join a team not interested in war. One going for space, diplomatic, cultural, or something like that.

Unfortunately, I can't really play. So my team will have compulsory screenshots, and tons of them. :p

Team Pacifism

For lack of a better name. And, assuming we can choose a civ, I choose the Turks.

If you are ready to start a team, please start a new thread for that team, and have in the first post a description and list of members. :)

I wouldn't mind joining but I'll have to see how the whole thing pans out before commiting fully. Please give more info about this so I can make up my mind.

Team Pacifism

If you promote pacifism over all these forums, I think we'll be an easy target for more militaristic teams!

The Empire

I propose the following organization of the Group of seven leading the Empire.

Emperor/ Lord Protector / President

Minister of War, governor 5
Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade, Governor 4.
Minister of Science and Culture, Governor 3
Minister of Territorial Expansion and Development, Governor 2
Minister of Security and Revolution, Governor 1
Minister of the Interior (Domestic, governors, finance)

In order to be fair , these positions rotate throughout 7 military revolutions, of which the tech definition will be agreed internally by majority vote.

Sadly, I don't have C3C :(

That doesn't matter! Join anyway! Your civ experience is always helpful when lending advice. Or, you could follow the diplomatic route and help your team when it deals with others.

And, a reminder: If you wish to start a team, please open a new thread for it. I want to keep this one a bit cleaner for discussion. :)

teams are not really affiliated with the real demogame, what is happening, is many people that play the demogame are creating teams and playing a mutliplater demogame with different teams that are human

We should really start this type of demogame. It would be fun and a better challenge than playing against cheating AI.

I've noticed we've got quite a few people willing to play but few signing up or creating teams, is there going to be a time limit on team entries, otherwise this may never happen unfortunately.

Yeah.....this is a bump as well as a serious question.

Please post links to your teams threads here too, so people can find them more easily.

Espirito, you are in :)

We are not a "democracy" par se, but an Imperial Electorate, where each person tries each office for a term. But we agree on the organization more in detail internally.

I saw you commented on the city placement, I have a compromise solution, what about moving the worker east, and if the terrain east is bad, we settle for SE.
I was in serious doubt on this one, and only further exploration east, and the guarantee we do not need aqueduct SE, will be enough for me.
The river hits only the corner of this tile, is that enough. On E I am certain.

Team Ethics (http://forums.civfanatics.com/showthread.php?t=95594)

Basically a team that plays using ethics (no agression, no RoP rape, no tribute taking, etc). The civ is the Ottomans. Unfortunately, I can't play since I don't have PTW, so we need some players. ;)

Provolution and anyone else who wants to start a team needs to make it in a new thread so more people will know about it.

Conquests?! I'm out.

I refuse to do anything involving that frivilous expansion pack. And I pity all those who payed for the Hittites, Sumerians, and radar towers. :p

I do like the Dutch though. But not the way they made William the Silent look. :p

All the stuff that was in Conquests should have been in PTW or Vanilla Civ. But hey its corporatism so what can you expect?

Espírito
Aug 04, 2004, 10:20 AM
hey Epi, I never paid for it, I borrowed it from a friend of my brother and he hasnt asked for it back yet, over 8 months later....

But Conquests is worth it, the Agricultural trait is extremely adantageous and the new civs just add a bit more colour, mod out the bits you dont like (i.e. Feudalism for me).

Provolution
