Due to a tie after the withdrawal of the election leader, this is a runoff poll for science advisor. Note that this in no way should grant precedence, nor is it based at all on the constitution, but rather on common sense.

This poll is not a place for you to vent your anger about a moderator stepping in and acting unconstitutionally, nor for discussion about future run-offs. There is already a thread for that if you feel the need.

Anyway, the winner of this poll will be the science advisor, and the runner-up will be deputy.

The candidates are Rik Meleet and Stuck_As_a_Mac.

why are all these people abstaining?

I'm sure many of 'em would be happy either Candidate so they're basically saying
"They're both good, I've got no preferance."
It also allows them to continue to keep track of it without clicking "View Results" like they would if they just didn't vote.

In that case why isnt everyone abstaining in our election?

I abstained all 3 due to my disagreement with the run-off process in general.

I agree with Immortal. But here's a point that needs considering. We're having run-off polls for the two candidates who came in second (because we allow multiple Nominations per each citizen  ), and niether of the candidates know they are in this poll. Niether of the candidates can promote themselves or answer questions from the citizens.

I have a question for the candidates, but what's the point?

How else do you expect to break a tie, Immortal? ;)

I am against the type of run-off that was being discussed earlier(a slightly smaller free-for-all), but I see nothing wrong with a run-off poll to break a tie between front-runners. With no laws currently in place for such a thing, we usually have to let precedence dictate, and we have been sending tied elections to runoffs for quite a few games now.

What do you know; I've won an election on my holiday-address ...
SaaM: I appoint you as deputy; when you are back on august 2nd; can you please do the honors of setting up an office and start some debates on research-schedule ??

Preferred research: 1: Pottery, then Bronze, then Iron. Reason: pottery because it allows curraghs and more importantly granaries. Iron because it shows us Iron on the map so we know where to settle as iron is essential to get our UU.

Thanks everyone who voted for me.

Well, I'm back. Thanks to Rik for the deputy job. I'll get the Office going (it'll be a temp office) and stay tuned for the research debates

One q- when does Rik get back?
