Just begun playing Civ 3. Reached 1798 with French on a custom map (big 8 civs). The AI starts it 1798 turn and freezes (4th civ namely the Greeks :) )giving me a win error message. I had to restart the comp manually.
Installed "Play the world", patched and still got the same message. Help?

Message: "Civilization3.e.exe has denerated errors and will be closed bu windows. You need to restart the program.
An error log is being created.
Cancel"

Ok so the error is to do with English phalanx unit on Greek territory. Whenever I kill it (1796) or it moves (1798) the game freezes. Restart?

Damn it! I loaded the PtW Civ exe and was able to play 7 more turns untill the game threw me back into Win. + the Task manager told me Civ cannot be closed (?). WTH?

Did you play that long in one sitting? It could be a memory leak. BTW, there's not going to be any more patches for PTW.

Thank you for your reply :).
I was playing for about 2,5 hrs... So what do I do if it is?

Turn off your PC, let it sit for about a minute, and reboot it. Then reload from your last save.

Try that, see if it works.

2.5 hours isn't a long sitting...

My personal record for Civ 1 was 12 hrs :).
Anyway I turned off some fancy animation and now everything works fine. Honestly this thing scared me :(. Thank you all for help!

I'm not mad ;) I've had longer, but not for Civ :D.
