Previous Turnchat (4000BC) (http://forums.civfanatics.com/forumdisplay.php?f=123)
Turnchat instruction thread, for the chat starting at 4000BC.

pre-turn save (http://www.civfanatics.net/uploads8/DG5_BC4000_REAL_PRE.SAV)

EDIT: Corrected the date is Tuesday 8/3

This is not a discussion thread. The only posts allowed here are instructions by government members or their legally designated representatives only!

To the best of my knowledge:

England is on "summer time" and is GMT+1 (GMT does not do summer time).
CET is normally GMT+1 but is currently on a summer time / daylight time so is currently GMT+2.

If these assumptions are correct, then this TurnChat is at 0600 (England+summer) and at 0700 Central European+summer/daylight.

Isnt this a bit short-notice?

No matter:

Ministry of War Instructions

- Use any warriors we produce to explore. Take note to explore the hills, notably the ones to the south which appear to be several hills judging by how the graphic looks. Be sure to have at least 1 warrior going in both directions. Also, after 2 warriors are produced for exploration, the third is a city garrison.

Trade Deputy's Instructions

None at the moment due to lack of contacts with other civs.

This set of instructions will be null and void if the Trade Leader posts his/her instructions

(I'm not sure whether my self-invented extra-consititional office qualifies, but this is the way to find out. Later on in the game I'll have some actual information to put here.)

And if I figured it right, that means that its at 11:00 pm Central Standard Time. Which seems to me a horrible time for everyone. I do not want to go online at 11 at night on my day off, and I don't think Europeans what to go online at 7 in the morning on a work day. :p

City Naming Office Instructions

The following cities are expected to be founded this turn:
-Capital: naming rights belong to DaveShack, as President, who may name it whatever he wants. No name was submitted by him in advance, and I think he intends to do it by choosing a citizen proposed name he likes best.

Forget the calculations around GMT , it is redundant, we want flat out the CET time, and no recalculations and confusion. I see no need to apply GMT, CET has more demographic mass than UK, and that should be respected, so please CET.

Ministry of Domestic Affairs instructions

Settlement
Well, counting Vizurok’s change of vote from NW to East, North and East are tied for votes. Therefore I make the judgment call to settle on the tile to the East. Please don’t crucify (read as "PI") me for making a judgment call. In other news…

Slider settings
The luxury slider is to be kept at 0%, and the science slider is to be set to maximize research while maintaining at least 0 GPT.

Worker instructions
Mine, then road each grassland tile in turn, beginning with the grain tiles.

Provolution you forget that those of us who don't live in the US find it a lot easier to calculate something if we are given GMT than if we are given CET. I wouldn't have a clue what I am in relation to CET, but I do know I'm GMT+10

I know that this is the first real chat for a lot of newbies, myself included, but you should read and remember this. This thread is important, and isn't supposed to be cluttered up with all sorts of discussion.

And, for the record, the chat is at the following times in N. America:

Pacific-9 pm
Mountain (time given in title)-10 pm
Central-11 pm
Eastern-midnight
Atlantic-1 am
England-6 am?
Europe-7am

Yes, that is an hour earlier than some people were saying. Which may be a problem. But it shows the importance of reading the title. :p

OK, I need to help out a bit here. Sorry, my work (leading an international team of software developers) is sloshing over into my descriptions of time in the forum. They're used to the way I'm doing the times, but not everyone is that familiar with it.

The "mountain standard" is messing you up. In the future I'll just put "pacific daylight" so everyone can use the standard conversion factors. A thread will be posted with the current offsets of popular timezones.
