I abstained, as I felt it was only fair.

I didn't want to make it public. It's my little informal poll. Sometimes I think you vote abstain just to rebel against the system. :yeah: ;)

I went for Zarunaia Ken, as I am not afraid to take positions.

The reason I choose this, is that it combines the name of the Provinces first governor with the UU of Japanatica, the Samurai. Besides, I deselected Zarnia, as it sounds to much like the Childish fairy tale of Narnia, and did not sound Japanese enough.
I would urge people to have some enthusiasm for our nation, and not abstain en masse. Zarn deserves a place in history, and that he abstains, is a sign that he wants us to make a free choice on his behalf. :) So please vote, not abstain or not Zarnia.

Yeah, I'm just feeling frustrated right now. As I said elsewhere, there is a lot of fun stuff to do and this is one example. Polls of this nature naturally attract interest, and I have no problem with that. I just wish more people would take an interest in issues of great import as well. Even if something I've worked hard on gets voted down, that is not as bad as it failing due to lack of interest.

And BTW, isn't it 40 votes to pass now? :scan:

In order to make "Abstain" be the Province name, if this is the case, a sad one, I would like this to be tweaked to "Abstania" or "Abstanistan" in order to get the right feel of name, Abstain does not sound like a province, Abstania and Abstanistan could well resemble a Central Asian republic in former CCCP, with a touch of the mindset.

That is my amendment proposal to "Abstain" if that is the name.

I went for Amakudari. Its all one word, and relatively short (except for Zarnia, which I rejected for the same reason as Provolution). :p

I'm just happy to see the people play a part in naming the province.

I voted abstain out of habit from the old days of a poll having to reach quorum to be legitimate, not so it can be named Abstain, as you seem to imply provolution.

Abstain by itself would be a good name. It sounds like a province (Think Bahrain the country eh?)

There are those who have voted to abstain for serious reasons, and there may be those who have voted because the name of the province is immaterial to them. All have exercised their right to vote and are to be commended as much as those who voted for particular province names. They are not apathetic. If they were they would not have voted at all like 92 people who haven't at this time.

There is always the option to abstain. If you check the recent general election polls, abstain was one of the options in each election.

Abstain did win a governor seat once IIRC. (DG2?). Either that, or deputy.

BTW, the governor can name the province whatever he wants. He doesn't really need a poll.

Abstain, because the others are, sorry, lousy. They're just some words that doesn't "ring a bell" in my mind. Plus I really like Abstanistan.

I can just imagine the governor of Nintendo conversing with the Governors of Toyota and Mitsubishi to try and maximize commerce options :lol: The Governors of Sony and Squaresoft get left out.

Abstain isn't in first. It will not win, since it is the 'I want to vote, but I can't decide or don't like any of the other options' option.
