I just got this idea reading a book on the events leading up to the first world war. The reality is half ov why it started is because of treaties and grudges that were made before the 18th century. Such as those between Britain and spain (1600's). The scenario is on huge map of europe, it contains 31 civs all with one or more UU and flags as leaderheads. It encompasses all history of europe (start 4000 b.c) Most units that aren't UU's are flavour units, eg Irish Revolutionaries, Welsh Longbowman, French Knights, Italian Rifleman etc

The idea was to make a scenario FOR people whose ancestry ran to europe. Imean imagine being Irish (me) and fighting of the engish invasion with gaelic swordsman! Or being polish and actually charging panzers with cavalry and winning (no pun intended) its surprisingly rewarding :goodjob:

so tell me if u care at all about me finishing this or if u have ideas it should be done in about a week (just need to tweak i bit more)

split Scandinavia up into Denmark, Sweden and Norway and add Finland. then I didn't read Russia anywhere? Then Where is Russia?

Nothing important is missing, but perhaps splitting Yugoslawia would be good. or renaming them to serbia (more historically).

Macedonia, Greece, etc: Do you mean the modern ones or the ancient. Sicily is ok, (a great idea btw.) as long as there's nothing big missing :)

Italy and Germany were split for so long, they could be too.

i understand that germany and italy were split thats why i put sicily in. Russia is in as well as indipendant scandinavians. should i change Yugoslavia to Prussia to give germany a unification goal?

Great that someone remember Czechs :)

Estonia is OK, but maybe you may made more well known Liuthiuana(Sorry but this is only country which is more difficult in English than in Czech :crazyeye: )

You may Czechoslovakia divide into two civilizations. Bohemia was independent or in German cover and Slovakia was under Hungary.

And Israel hadn´t state to second half of 20 century. I think that may be Belgium.

Wales,Ireland and Scotland x England may be is great Scenario on map when is Great Britain. ;)

Israel would be under the control of the Ottomans as would a number of the countries listed.... maybe I miss the point of this?

this is just a scenario of europe from the ancient era to modern, with new units flags as leaderheads and 31 civs. It is not a fixed point in history you just pick a civ from europe (see above) and play. hope that helps you, Dom
oh and if u notice there is no ottomans, its turkey

REDY is right you should put Lithunia in instead of Estonia, lithunia used to be huge while estonia was conquered a few times

Yeah, Liuthiuana with alliance with Poland was one of the mightiest in Europe but Estonia or Latvia were only under Germans and Russians. Maybe you may make "Baltics" with cities like Vilnius,Riga,Kaunas,Talinn,...

Belgium is not really a civ. It's a federal ( soon confederal ) country build up with two very different peoples having different architectures, languages, habits, political parties,...As a state, Belgium is only 170 years old !

As you want to reflect culture more than actual states, it would be better to make Flanders and Wallonia.

Flanders had a very original culture in the late middle-age and at the begining of Renaissance. The problem is it never had an independant state.

Wallonia's culture is older and had a gold age between the Xe and the XIIIe century ( mosan style ) and during the industrial revolution. There was an independant walloon state during eight centuries ( 972-1789 ) : the Principalty of Liège. I'm actually working on Notger ( 930-1008 ), the first and the most famous Bishop-Prince of Liège. It would be perfect ! ;)

Yeah,I know this. But Israel is only 50 years old.

I find other: In the list are Yugoslavia, but Serbia and Bosnia too?!? So Yugoslavia will be Croatia+Slovenia+Montenegro??? I realy mean that you may add Belgium or Helvetia ;-)

Here (http://www.maps.com/reference/history/whistory/) is a list of world history maps, including many from Europe. I would recommend taking a look thru the Ages a bit before making your final roster.
