I'm planning on hosting another mafia game. The rules were the last game seemed fine. So, unless someone else suggests otherwise I'll use those rules.

Here they are:

There are 15 participants; consisting of 13 townspeople, 2 mafiosos, and the host (me). I will decide who the mafiosos are randomly.

The game starts off when it is 'NIGHT'. Every night-time, each mafioso sends me a PM with instructions on who is to be killed. I will then post the results in this thread.

It is then 'DAY'. During the daytime, all players are to vote (in this thread) on two people they believe are mafiosos -- based on anything they want. The two players with the most votes are then killed. If there is a tie, a coinflip will determine the result.

This continues until one mafia kills the other, or the town kills a mafioso, then it goes down to one vote and one kill.

If both mafiosos are killed the surving town members win, if one mafioso manages to survive this, then he wins and is crowned godfather

No, the more rules the slower the game will go and the more boring it gets.

Simplicity is beauty. :)

Although I think the Detective can add an extra dimention to the game (I once tricked someone into believing I was the detective, so I could win the game), I think it would be much better to keep it simple right now.

Regarding the detective thing, the last time we tried it, it failed. The detective would give themselves away easily, one instance being something like:
"I AM THE DETECTIVE AND THE MAFIA IS BOB!!!!!!"
Except it was more convincing ;) I don't think we should have a Detective...

I've sent PMs to the Mafia so they know who they are (I guess they had amnesia or something ;) ). That means that, if you didn't get a private message, you are not the Mafia. The game still won't start until tommorow morning, so, even if I did get targets tonight, they won't take place tonight.

So Mafia, whenever you get around to it (within 24 hours, please) send your targets to me by PM.

Since there was a tie, a randomly picked the person from the 3 choices.

The townspeople found CivCube working in the yard and siezed him. He pleaded innocent, but the people would not listen.They took him to the cliffs and threw him off. Not be able to fly or swim, CivCube died in the icy waters below.

The crowd wanted to avenge the deaths of those who were killed. At first they weren't sure who to kill, but then Shadowdude said, "Everyone vote for me". And they did, and Shadowdude was killed.

Shadowdude was not the mafia

But the town's thirst for blood was not avenged. Their next target was LLXerxes. They dragged him out of town, and tied him to a tree. Than they put TNT next to him and lit the fuse. Although he tried to blow it out, the fuse continued to burn. His last words were "Son of a..." before he blew up.

Police Investigations soon revieled that LLXerxes was an operative for the Mafia

The townspeople had guessed correctly today, but still one Mafia remained.

It was do or die for the townspeople. Blood had been on their hands before, and this time would be no different. Many innocent people had died and this was their last chance. They submitted votes to decide who to kill. The votes came out like this:

Although Amenhotep wanted a recount, he was tied to the train tracks. In the morning, the train came in and he was no more.

The Civfanatic Newspaper printed a headline the next day:

Anyway, LLXerxes had figured out who the other Mafia was, and was planning on killing him (it had something to do with a Russian A-Bomb). But the townspeople killed him before he could do so.

Anyway, LLXerxes had figured out who the other Mafia was, and was planning on killing him (it had something to do with a Russian A-Bomb). But the townspeople killed him before he could do so.

I don't usually see him posting anywhere else, so I didn't know (I looked on the last activity thing, but he is set to always appear offline)
However, I saw that Ankka hadn't been posting in the ISDG for a day or two, and thus thought it was him.
Before that, I was convinced it was WF.
This time, I really didn't have a clue to who the Mafia was. Good game :)

I'm didn't post in the ISDG because I had nothing to add to the other great posts there. :p

And I did post elsewhere. Just go and check... the SG forum is a good checkout place, the first place I always check.
