View Full Version : What popular games that you do not enjoy. regen2ndx Aug 06, 2004, 08:58 AM for me it's Final Fantasy 7, Starcraft. Wolfe Tone Aug 06, 2004, 12:05 PM Any of the Zelda games. I don't mind the Final Fantasy games, but I don't think they are as amazing as everyone says. I prefer my games a little more open ended. WildFire Aug 06, 2004, 12:06 PM The Sims... Ankka Aug 06, 2004, 12:44 PM CS, Vice City, GTA 3, Doom's... most of the FPS games... Harry Potter games... :ack: Those are the first to come to mind... Xi 12 Aug 06, 2004, 03:20 PM Halo, everyone makes it out to be the best game ever, and I found it to be not that great. Babbler Aug 06, 2004, 03:54 PM The Sims... I agree. It SOOOO boring... Super Smasher Brothers, Vurta Fighter, Soul Calabuir or any other fighters out there. I do not understand the appel: start/push buttons/win or lose. And also any arcade games. Its over guys; no care anymore. Is the air hockey table free? Dell19 Aug 06, 2004, 04:31 PM I never really got into playing Black and White... Lord Draegon Aug 06, 2004, 04:44 PM for me it's Final Fantasy 7     [pissed] :gripe: :ar15: :sniper: CivCube Aug 06, 2004, 05:53 PM CounterStrike never did it for me. Inter4 Aug 06, 2004, 06:30 PM Counter-Strike and Gran Turismo Grilox Aug 06, 2004, 06:37 PM Halo, GTA, Counterstrike. Matrix Aug 06, 2004, 07:02 PM Quake III. Everybody loves it, but I hate it. It's far too difficult for newbies (not that I'm a newbie :mischief: ), and has unclear and ugly graphics IMO. Syterion Aug 06, 2004, 07:27 PM Grand Theft Auto. Most overrated game ever. Halo is pretty good, but my friends act like its a sign fom god. So annoying. Dabomb18359 Aug 06, 2004, 08:07 PM Halo definitely. Everyone says it's soooo fun, but unless you're the one creaming everyone how's it fun. The rarity when I DO play it my brother creams me. He gets the sniper and just walks towards me. If he sees me he shoots and kills me. If I hide, he comes to me and pistols my head. BTW, Zelda is awesome. Anyone who insults it doesn't like it because it's too "kiddy." :nono: :wallbash: :suicide: How can you not like Zelda? I mean it rox and is the best of it's class for every game they've made for it. Perfection Aug 06, 2004, 08:33 PM I don't enjoy pokemon cards. ...Well, I do enjoy ripping them to shreds in front of thier owner, does that count? Silverflame Aug 06, 2004, 08:43 PM I'm not one for the FPS genre in general. There are currently only two FPS games that I have really enjoyed, and that being Goldeneye and Timesplitters 2. And the main reason I like Timesplitters is because it feels so much like Goldeneye, so... GTA was alright, fun for a while. Definitely should not have sold so much. I also find every Blizzard game other than Starcraft overrated. I hate Blizzard for not making us a REAL Starcraft sequel, the ugly mess that is Starcraft Ghost doesn't count. I'm also not one for sports, nor EA in general. I also hate the Sims. That should cover most of it. Other than sports games I'm generally open-minded about things. Knight-Dragon Aug 06, 2004, 10:20 PM All those Nintendo 'classics' like Mario or Zelda or Pokemon. Can't really see what's the fuss is about... :p Also GTA, fighting games (the duel type) and sports games. Esckey Aug 06, 2004, 10:32 PM Any sports game, Call to Duty, all FFs. Jedi series(Outcast, Acedmy), Star Wars Galaxies, Everquest, Kights of the old Republic. Quentin Aug 07, 2004, 04:55 AM Counter Strike, The Sims, and Diablo 2. Among those I find Diablo 2 to be the most overrated. damunzy Aug 07, 2004, 08:44 AM Civ3 - msg to short Inter4 Aug 07, 2004, 10:47 AM Civ3 - msg to short then what are you doing here? :p Dell19 Aug 07, 2004, 10:58 AM Quite a few people joined with Civ2 or Civ1 :p -Gladiator- Aug 07, 2004, 01:16 PM I don't like games such as Max Payne,GTA,all tycoons, all sims(including sim farm etc...)...lol I could just continue this for ever...actually I only play strategy and MMORPG games...and very few RPG...all other games can just Profanity. Bad boy! :nono: Syterion Aug 07, 2004, 02:39 PM All those Nintendo 'classics' like Mario or Zelda or Pokemon. Can't really see what's the fuss is about... :p Also GTA, fighting games (the duel type) and sports games. The fuss is about the sheer brilliance of the gameplay. Play Zelda:Ocarina of Time and tell me you didn't like it. Or Play Super Mario World 3 on the Super NES. Pokemon was fun when I was 10. Saga of Gemini Aug 07, 2004, 05:03 PM Almost any FPS...( ecept the one u have to think like MP ) I totally hate sports games. (Madden, FIFA etc) ( warning I do not ahte sports...maybe Football...its just that I rather play the actual game than be sitting there saying: "Im Zidane, Im Roberto Carlos" etc... Umm and I guess those "realistic" games... wich seem to be so popolar now....Im a mario zelda fantasy adventure guy.....for real..I have life rigth?. regen2ndx Aug 08, 2004, 11:10 AM     [pissed] :gripe: :ar15: :sniper: so what if I do not enjoy FF7. homeyg Aug 11, 2004, 11:25 AM I hate all RPGs. thestonesfan Aug 13, 2004, 10:59 AM Sims. Building your house is fun, but actually playing the game...? Not for me. Pretty much any console game. Racing games are okay, but shooting games seem far inferior to their PC counterparts. Even Goldeneye. Diablo 2. It's just pretty mindless. I played for the movies. Warcraft 2. Well, I guess I enjoyed it, but I consider it pretty overrated. naervod Aug 13, 2004, 05:41 PM The Final Fantasy and Zelda series...in fact, the only console games I do like are usually racing games. I also liked the Pokemon for Game Boy, and its still fun to fire up the ol' GB Color and play some Pokemon once in a while. For PC its definitely Diablo II. My friends acted like it was the greatest thing since sliced bread, and to me it seems pretty boring. It's basically doing the same thing for hours on end...and don't even get me started on multiplayer. My other one is the Medal of Honor series. It's good, it just can't cut it when it comes to its competition in the WW2 shooter genre, such as Call of Duty and BF 1942, which, in my opinion, were much better games. Dabomb18359 Aug 14, 2004, 09:27 AM All those Nintendo 'classics' like Mario or Zelda or Pokemon. Can't really see what's the fuss is about... :p Also GTA, fighting games (the duel type) and sports games. Okay don't consider Pokemon a Nintendo classic plz... I mean, yes, Nintendo made it, but it was never a classic... Just sold well cuz all the little kids bought all the games for it. Nothing compared to Mario, which is nothing compared to Zelda. Dabomb18359 Aug 14, 2004, 09:29 AM The fuss is about the sheer brilliance of the gameplay. Play Zelda:Ocarina of Time and tell me you didn't like it. Or Play Super Mario World 3 on the Super NES. Pokemon was fun when I was 10. Also, I just got to his message, and I completely agree with it. Pokemon caught little kids probably like the new ones (yu-gi-oh i guess there are prolly a bunch more) but mario and zelda (especially ocarina of time) rock a lot. Akka Aug 14, 2004, 10:24 AM Heroes of Might and Magic All MMORPG, mainly DAoC (except perhaps WoW, I'll have to check) The "brutish" FPS (Quake III, UT 2003 and 2004...) Zelda 3 and Zelda 64 (boooooring...) Mario (about as much charisma and class as his lead pipe...) The Sims *disgust* Diablo II (how such a lame game can be such a success ?) Silverflame Aug 14, 2004, 12:56 PM Okay don't consider Pokemon a Nintendo classic plz... I mean, yes, Nintendo made it, but it was never a classic... Just sold well cuz all the little kids bought all the games for it. Nothing compared to Mario, which is nothing compared to Zelda. People diss Pokemon way too much. The games were excellent. Addicting and fun, they showed that not ALL RPGs rely on a storyline to make them good. I still have fond memories of playing my Gameboy Color when I was younger. Unfortunately, an oversaturation hit the market. Pokemon spread everywhere, and soon it stopped being cool to like Pokemon, but rather the cool thing is to bash it. And it still carries on today. This is one thing I like about the Japanese, they couldn't care less about what's "kiddie" and what's "for adults." I've seen grown men playing Pokemon on their GBAs on the subways. Granted, the fact that Pokemon is still quite popular in Japan (Fire Red and Leaf Green easily sold over a million each there... that's very disturbing) may have something to do with it. Despite my disappointment in the later installments, I think the Pokemon series is still a lot of fun. The fad may be long dead, but the franchise lives on. MikeH Aug 15, 2004, 08:05 AM Two games that I didn't really hate, but couldn't see wht all the fuss was about were Half Life and SMAC. Half Life was another run of the mill FPS as far as I could see. SMAC seemed to be Sid proving his earlier claim that Civilization in space wouldn't work. Who wants to build supergravitonic integrated semiconductors when they could be building the Pyramids, at least I know what the Pyramids are :) . PlutonianEmpire Aug 16, 2004, 10:14 AM Turok 2: Seeds of Evil. I don't know wether this is popular or not. I hate it because I don't have the freedom that I do in Turok: Dinosoar Hunter. I like the Sims. You can model a replica of your family with using all your siblings as adults. Interesting things can happen :D Strider Aug 16, 2004, 01:41 PM Halo: Graphics are cartoonish, and storyline was crap. I hated this game. All sports games pretty much suck to me also. I love UT2003, UT2004, Final Fantasy, Zelda, and Doom series though. The thing abo Diablo II is that you have to understand that some people just enjoy going around and killing things. The storyline for the games are amazing, espicially if you played the orginal game. Gelion Aug 16, 2004, 02:14 PM Is it worth bying UT2004 you think? I played all previous UT games, but its kind of expenisve... Strider Aug 16, 2004, 02:26 PM Is it worth bying UT2004 you think? I played all previous UT games, but its kind of expenisve... If you liked the other one's, then it's worth buying. It's pretty much the same thing, just with more weapons, levels, and now they have vechiles in it. The onslaught games are awesome (Onslaught is massive courses that has vechiles). Gelion Aug 16, 2004, 02:38 PM I have the Demo of it. Damn, you just ruined my life :D. Buying it! Goodbye studies! philippe Aug 16, 2004, 05:06 PM i don't like fifa dunk Aug 17, 2004, 02:45 PM I dislike sports games as well. I especially dislike them because they have to have the "real" players in them. I remember that I had a a game for my C64 called "Superstar Soccer" where you built a team of fictional players, could trade them, recruit new players and it was a lot of fun. I have little desire to play a game with Barry Bonds in it. So, John Madden Football 2005 is of absolutely no interest to me, as is NHL 2005, NBA 2005, and so on. I am lukewarm to FPS. They're definately the most fun playing on a LAN with friends. Single player gets boring very quickly. I've played Quake II and III and enjoyed them, mostly when playing with friends. The single player is pretty boring. Although I loved Duke Nukem. Halo is ok. I'm surprised so many people hate it. Oh well. NetGear Aug 17, 2004, 03:11 PM I agree. It SOOOO boring... Super Smasher Brothers, Vurta Fighter, Soul Calabuir or any other fighters out there. I do not understand the appel: start/push buttons/win or lose. And also any arcade games. Its over guys; no care anymore. Is the air hockey table free? Everyone has their opinions and tastes but if you dont like fighters only because you think theres no actual gameplay in it then you are wrong. Most people that button mash wins because usually the opponent is doing pretty much the same thing. Fighting game is quite much like fighting in real life. Do you win at boxing titles if u throw the most punches wildly as possible? Or tae kwon do? When two fools play game foolishly what do you expect the game to turn out to be? boring and stupid obviously. MikeH Aug 17, 2004, 03:32 PM I dislike sports games as well. Acuallly sports management games like Championship Managar still allow you to play with fictional players as an option, after you've been managing your team for about 10 years most of the players are fictional anyway as the real ones (if you chose that option) have retired anyway. I don't care for the arcade style sports games much though, I want to be Alex Ferguson, not David Beckham :) . Sarevok Aug 17, 2004, 09:54 PM GTA, Halo and CS Colonel Aug 17, 2004, 10:21 PM I know a great game, Space Empires 4 Gold produced by Malfador Machinations and made by Aaron Hall, Its a game about space where you design your ships. With various types of research and weapons technolgy along with various stellar maniplaution technology, Ability to control vast fleets of ships with anmous power but as in most empire building strategy games it is a bit lacking in the econmic screen. For the most part its good if you like this sort of game. Just to point this out before someone says this: I like Shooter game, city builders, empire builder, tactical level strategy, Strategic level Strategy, Political, and alot other types of games so i am for the most part unbiased against most games Heres a Screen |
