I don't think what - about 2.67 units a day this week? - would ever let us consider you 'lazy'! They look great again by the way!

Jeesh, Bebro, is there any type of unit you can't do? These guys are really neat and will be a boon to the GEAM if I ever get back on it.

More rifleman units!!! Rifleman units are my favorite kind of units. It looks like you're making them for every civ. Keep on doing 'em. What do you plan on next.

The Sikh Rifleman is great.. so is the Greek Gaurd.. with his funny-lookin' attire.

Wow- you tied that together in a mere day :o amazing !!! Wow- at thgis pace you could replace the existing riflemen of the USA, CSA, Prussia, France, England, Colonial European, Boer, Bandeirante, Native American in ...3-4 days- but of course I know your list is longer than life already :)

:goodjob:

So all these riflemen you've been pumping out have been around the 1850-1900 era.. correct?

Let's just say the Firaxis guy is too small ;) But seriously, yes, mine are a bit taller, but I don't think it is much of a problem, in reality we aren't all at the same size too :mischief:

I don't have complete info for all, since they were requested. Here's what I know/don't know so far about the time they were in use:

Chinese - ca. 1900
Greek rifleman - 1890
Greek Guard ?
Mexican - 1900
Ottoman - up to WWI
Russian -WWI
Senegalese - ?
Sikh - ?

For the rest I need Steph's help, since he has a book about them :) I think TopGun and Winter know about the Greek Guard.

BeBro,
how I waited for this Sikh. Haven't even requested it earlier just been hoping.
You have filled the Rifleman period 1850-WW1 with top units.
However could one hope for perhaps a Cavalry man in redcoat british.
Just been looking at the movie The Four Feathers and thos redcoats storming the dervishers looks impressive.
Perhaps even the famous Hussars making the last Charge of the Light brigade.

After all I am permitted to dream on, now that my wet Sikh dream is all over.

There are several British cavalry units in my lost ???

Steph, what "lost".

The Cossacks and fight back are surely from earlier times than mid 19th century.

Someone else pointed me to that the Civ3 own cavalry unit could be something like the Horseguards of that timepriod. Perhaps very true...
With all the superunits created one tends to forget to carefully look over the present Civ3 standard units and perhaps using them as specific units instead of some generic one.

Heard so many discussions on which units the Civ3 really are looking like but forgotten most. Does anyone have a pretty good list on this..??
Or suggestions (hm perhaps not the thread to bring this up in, sorry)

Hm Steph,
are you planning on finishing your suberb Cossack collection nr 2 ???

Hoping for the best of course, since it will fill many empty upgrades...

Excellent work! I was looking for the Greek soldier, which is great, while the Sikh is very good. I think, however, that the Greek should have a more early gun, like a musket, because with this rifle really reminds me of the comics from 1940 for the Greek-Italian war.

I disagree compeletely. These were the guns EYZONOI had. I mean, if you look at both guard and battle pictures, they carry those big rifles. THAT's HISTORIC.

Thing is, they fought till 1940. Until then, they were a fighting force. From that point on, they became the guard of the King, and later the president. (The ones that did fight, ended up forming the nucleus of the special forces, especially the KATADROMEIS or rangers)

Listen, this is the TSOLIAS's suit. Eyzonoi (practically tsolias and euzonos are the same thing, but here we're talking about different meanings) have the same suit but they are based on them. Don't tell me that the Greek army wore this suit in 1940! The Greek army suit was never tsolias's suit in the 20th century. Hisorically, the tsolias's suit was the official Greek army suit within the age of Otto (1833-1860). It was abolished before Otto's fall. After that, the Eyzonoi were just a traditional institution for ceremonies, parades, guard suit, theatrical plays, etc. I have seen a trillion of photos and pictures with the Greek army. In 1940 comics were just jokes against the Italians, showing the Greek troops like tsoliades. If this unit is an Eyzonos like those who are guards in our goverment, then indeed there is no problem. But as a real army
it can only be the real tsolias of the age between apx.1700-1860, carrying a musket or a giatagani - a type of bent sword.
