For those who don't know Poser, it might seem trivial, but he made it so that virtually everything on the chair moved and that's no small task. I'd also like to thank Rufus T. Firefly for editing one of the storyboards as well as helping work out the posture and costume for Professor Hawking.

I do imagine that Professor Hawking will respond, and it will probably be favorable. I mean, this is a man who was on the Simpsons and had a bet for a year's subscription to Penthouse on the issue of blackholes.

He's also been on Star trek: The Next Generation atleast once.

Oh, and looking good, Dom. And Ocedious, he isn't being abducted by aliens.. he is beign sucked into a black hole.

I've uploaded the Joke Death if you want to use it. There isn't that square of dark pink in the FLC version, so it looks better.

I don't know if the death animation is really in good taste. This unit is awesome but unlike most civ units it represents an actual person. Maybe you could just use the wormhole animation as a default?

Well, I realize that it is an actual living person, but we do need a death animation. And unfortunately, my options for other possible animations are rather limited due to his limited mobility.

As I said, I sent an e-mail to his people with all of the animated GIFs. If he doesn't have a problem with it, I see no reason why we should. And if he does, I'll remove it.

I can't wait to hear his reply. I've heard he's a nice guy and one with a sense of humor, I think he did a bit on Conan O'Brian.

I think for the Attack, he should have a boxing glove on one of those scissor-type-extending devices. Just like what Rufus is talking about.

Also, can we use the _ERAS thing in the pediaicons file like we do we the regural leaders, so we can have era specific scientific leaders as well? Will it work like this:

I should think Stephen Hawking is a pretty busy character at the best of times, so if you do get a response it would probably take a fair while... he's just been reworking his theory of black holes, hasn't he? I bet that takes it out of you.

Not to bring up an older thread but I felt it more appropriate to upload my changes and additions for the Hawking unit by Dom Pedro II on the same thread. Among other changes and additions, I wanted to be able to use Hawking as an Attack Unit, so I created an Attack and Fortify flc for use. It is a Fun unit in the game and I have been meaning to upload my changes and additions for quite a long time. Credit for this Unit belongs to Dom Pedro II and I only take credit for the additions and changes to it.
The Download is my complete version of this Unit with sounds. I want to express a big thanks to Dom Pedro II for creating this Great Unit in the first place.

Included Files:

Created the Civ Specific Colored, Hawking_units_32.pcx

Created Sounds:
HawkingRun.wav
HawkingFortify.wav
HawkingFidget.wav
HawkingAttack.wav
HawkingDeath.wav
HawkingVictory.wav
Alt_HawkingVictory.wav (Extra Alternative)

Adjusted the Hawking.INI file to use the new flcs and sounds.

Created the HawkingAttack.flc...used some of the Frames from the
Fidget flc and created the additional overlay animations for the Attack.

Assembled HawkingFortify.flc by using 10 selected frames from the
Fidget flc and changing the flc speed to 66.

The Victory uses the Fidget flc.

Totally Remade a single Combination Palette and applied it to All Flcs
...Slightly Darker Purple in the Death flc and minor color changes.
Changed the Death flc speed to 83. Removed minor spots from the flc.

Created an additional Frame for the Run flc and changed the flc speed
from 80 to 66 and removed some minor Shadow "Glitches" from several
directions.

Created 7 new animated "Joke Death" Frames to lengthen/improve the
Death animation.

Added 5 Frames to the "Normal" Death flc so it would not end abruptly.
It is Labeled "20Frame_HawkingDeath.flc" so If you want to use it, Just
Rename it "HawkingDeath.flc".
