Yup, your daily load of infantry guys has arrived :)

Contains one Japanese WWI soldier (in the middle of the pic), a WWI type Bersaglieri (right) for Italy, and a French WWI infantry guy (left), also called Poilu, says the description.

For the moment I'll only do those which were requested by Steph, and English, American and German aren't on those list ;) So blame Steph :D ;)

:wow: These look amazing Bebro :goodjob: Did you model all of these?!

You seem to have turned into a machine lately ;)

BTW, are the french the only ones who like celebrating? the italian and japanese ones have no victory
although the victory anim is more eye candy than anything IMO ;)

BeBro
Aug 11, 2004, 09:14 AM
Yeah, I didn't want to make exactly the same victory anim for all. The Japanese has OTOH a fidget (which the French does not have). Victory and Fidget I also consider more a bonus, so I do not always include them. Saves also time when making so much units. ;)

All these units you are cranking out are fantastic :goodjob:, BeBro. I can't wait for the next batch! (but I probably won't be waiting long, eh?)

For English and American, they are close enough to the original Firaxis Infantry, that's why I didn't requested it.
For German, there is one already done by someone.
Austria is not in the epic game.

My list is for my mod only, with what I need

Ehm, they are still a tad big compared to the existing units (is there a resizer in the house?)

Anyway, resizing units is extreamly easy in SSS

Whats SSS? A new graphics program?

Anyway...Bebro, you keep this up, and you'll have more Units than Wyrmshadow!

Also, I was under the impression that the Japanese were still wearing the Menjii Era uniforms during the first world war?

SSS is the game Steph has in the works. It is TBS and civ-like, and looks very promising :)

For the uniforms, I made them all after pics that Steph sent me. They were scanned from a book about uniforms, so they should be right ;)

Edit: often different unifroms were in use at one time. The Russian I made has a black one, but I have also a pic of other Russians in another (green) uniform) from the same time.

Yuck. Patriotism. :p

Maybe they didn't make a WWII Italian unit because the Italians really sucked in WWII and would have even done worse if Hitler hadn't gone out of his way so many times to save their asses.

It's good that the Allies won WWII.. but just to let you know.. I'm not pro-American, I'm not pro-any nation.. so don't think my comments were directed to American military supremacy, it was directed to the fact that the Italians in WWII and even today don't have much power. Never had enough industrial strength, neveral will. Let's just hope they get with the information age and form a good economic strength with that.. will definantly take a while.

Now back on topic.

BeBro

Except those already finished, on the list are mainly these infantry units ...
WWII Chinese infantry
WWII Japanese para, Japanese naval infantry
WWII Bersaglieri, WWII Italian Para,
Chasseur Alpin WWII, French WWII infantry, French WWII marines,
British WWII Para, WWII Commando,
German WWII Mountain trooper, German WWII naval infantry,
Turkish WWI soldier
... plus some cavalry, a handful medieval units...
As said I'm not sure if i make really all, but certainly a number of them ;)

I think so too. Brazil is militarily weak, and I rather like it that way. We're not hassling anybody. We've rejected foreign wars of conquest so that we can focus on killing our own people... and drinking, and sex, and beaches. The way life OUGHT to be.

If everybody was militarily weak, the world would be a better place... well, at least until the space aliens showed up.

The last great Italian victory was the Battle of Capporetto.

If everybodies military was weak.. it wouldn't change much.. because you'd still have some militaries which are better than others. It would just make war last longer and have more casualties.

There was the call for smaller units. For the beginning here is the French WWI infantry. Is the size ok?

Bebro,

could you modify the japanse rifleman to look like the WWII soldiers (see attached pix)? I'd be extremely interested in the Naval Lander and the army infantry with the kepi-style hat...

Hey, I could get used to your daily deilvery of new riflemen! ;)

BeBro
Aug 13, 2004, 07:42 AM
I have already some WWII infantry guys for Japan on the list, they are also for the coming SOP mod :)

There's also a unit called "Imperial landing party", is this the same as your naval lander (seem to be kinda marines?). I'm not that familiar with all these different types. But the guys I'm speaking of look a bit different, they have dark blue uniforms, and the helmets look a bit different too. OTOH I like the weapon on the pic you posted, is this a light mg?

So in short, I can't promise if I make yours, but I'll see what I can do.
Thing is, from today my unit out put will return to normal levels. :D I just thought I should mention it. Please don't expect me to throw out units packs every day next week.....;)

Oh, and Aluminium, great job again on the resizing. If you agree I'll edit the links to your versions into the first post, so that people can choose if they want to have my original units, or the smaller versions :)

Japanese "marines" can be represented with both uniforms. I selected the blue one because I think it's nice to be differentiate more easily between marines, infantry, paratroopers, etc.

Even though it's nice to differenciate, I'd rather go with olive drab instead of navy blue for the naval landers (yes, they are the Japanese Marines, est'd in the 1920s) - simply because it's the battle/field uniform and not the parade uniform.

Mobilize, with all the respect to USA, but i disagree with strong military nations; are a stone and a club like a nuclear bomb? A war fighted with stones and clubs ends like in "2001:a space odissey": 1 died!
