I think some cities should be appointed (or maybe randomly based on certian parameters) as industry Base. For Example the US Car manufactureing is based mainly in Detroit while a majority of there Naval industry is based around Norfolk Virginia and that area, i forget where a majority of planes are built but you get the idea.

Next the idea of moral boost- what i mean is a boost in industry and production if certian things happen (i'm thinking of a world war 2 type thing where US production sky rocketed due to a massive war).

Replies Welcome :)

That would be Seattle I believe.

(i'm thinking of a world war 2 type thing where US production sky rocketed due to a massive war).

That part is already taken care of with mobilization (+1 production to each square that's already producing at least one shield as long as the city is producing a military unit).

But I have always liked this idea. I agree that certain cities should be able to be set aside for a certain purpose. Like one specializing in shipbuilding would build naval units faster.

Not a bad idea... could be like a small wonder. "We've discovered automobile" -- making Automobile Industry Base available.

This could also lay the foundation for class consciousness in Civ, and domestic issues.

also there should be world bases e.g. the city that is number one in the world for commercial, trade, agricultural, etc should get some recognition or a bonus of some sort.
maybe in the modern era the top commercial powerhouse gets named and is allowed to build some small wonder in that city to benefit the culture and the city, produciing culture and a little extra $
