My game is only using 50% of the available cpu power and 35-40% of the available ram. I'm playing a big game with 28 civs (left), and now I'm in the later years and it's taking a bit of time for the turns to process. Is there a way to make the game process the turns faster by giving it the other 50%/60% it isn't using?

Hmm. My Civ3 games always consume 99% CPU power inbetween turns. The one I'm running now is taking up more than 230 megs of RAM, too.

What OS are you using?

Right click on your task bar (Or ctrl-alt-delete to get to it) and open your Task Manager. Make sure you're on the Processes tab. Set the priority from normal to above normal or high. Warning: Do Not Set To Real-Time. You will lock your system up this way. I haven't actually tried this, but it might work.

^^ is your problem.

You have a hyper threaded CPU, it is one CPU that pretends to be two.

I expect that civ is not written in such a way as to utilise two CPUs. In any event the upshot of a HT style CPU would never give you twice the perfomance (usually 10-15% if that application is written to use more than one CPU), although windows claims 50% use you are probably using most of the available power now.
