Is this Civ, PTW or C3C?

If its C3C, then are you trying to load a save from a previous patch version? Either its a version incompatability or a corrupted save file. :(

I am having this same problem since upgrading to Civ 3 Complete Edition. I had all the previous versions of 3, 1.29 patch, PTW 1.27, & Conquests 1.22 but had a computer problem that forced me to reformat my hdd. Couldn't find my original Civ 3 CD so I bought the complete edition. Had some of my own editor created mods burned to CD. They open and work properly while playing, BUT upon saving, and even the autosaves, they cannot be reloaded. Get the 38% load from the Complete Load Saved Games screen then the Data I/O Error: CITY. Any way to fix this, or are my mods lost forever? My system specs follows if they may help: Dell Dimension 8400
P4 2.8ghz; 1 Gig 800 mhz RAMBUS; 2 HDD's both are 120 gigs; Chaintech Geoforce FX 5500 256 meg Graphics Card; Turtle Beach Sound Card; Dell M993 19 in. monitor running at 1024x 768 at a 75 herz refresh rate; 1 DVD 16x drive; 1 DVD 16x Double Layer RW drive; 3.5 floppy.
