I would like to see some kind of mission introduced, giving you another way to win. Something like capture 'a particular' continent by 1500. Or destroy the French to win. Be the first to get gunpowder and Radio.
Obviously this would be completely random and an option which the user can switch off.

So pretty much a way to win by only partially achieving a victory condition. No offense but this sounds like a kind of lame concept.

this is what the conquests are used for but having this concept in an "epic" game is not that great of an idea.

While I think this is neat, I think this is more a "scenario" phenomenon. That's practically what they were made for.
Although it would be cool if in a multiplayer game, you could vote to expedite victory by shrinking the goals or something.

It would be a nice option... to spice up a game that are getting boring or so, or just for a change. I like this more than set scenarios. Of course it will probably be hard to implement in such way that the game not become unbalanced, as in "wipe out the French" and they get stuck on a little island right next to you.

Scenarios tend to not like me.
I wouldn't mind if they had this option. If they do add it (unlikely, but still possible), they would have an option to just turn it off (or never turn it on). How about just not turn it on if you don't like it? I don't like Elimination, but i don't complain, I just never turn it on.
