View Full Version : Small, simple idea
T-Money Aug 13, 2004, 09:32 AM Not a really big deal, but I can't even count the number of times I've sent a worker out with an escort but found to my horror that it was destroyed by a barbarian/enemy due to some misclick on my part. A feature I'd like to see is for defensive units to have an Escort feature. Press this button, select a unit to escort, and the unit copies the worker/settler's movements exactly, and will fortify until that job is completed. This would be especially useful in combination with the ctrl-n trade network worker option.
dh_epic Aug 13, 2004, 09:46 AM I like this one a lot. Moreso, a generic "group units" feature would be useful, like an army without the benefits.
warpstorm Aug 13, 2004, 01:01 PM Sounds great.
toh6wy Aug 13, 2004, 02:10 PM This should have been in Civ3! Sounds like a very good idea just to streamline things a little more.
Jon Shafer Aug 13, 2004, 02:26 PM I agree, this would be a very nice feature to have. :) J and Ctrl-J were useful, but that concept could have been expanded on more.
douche_bag Aug 13, 2004, 08:03 PM yeah what he said. . .that's a great idea.
GoodGame Jan 03, 2005, 09:46 PM I absolutely agree.
Ditto for a simple Escort this Unit with that Unit button.
Still we have the Autosave re-load option

Ivan the Kulak Jan 04, 2005, 02:06 PM Yeah, great idea, since the AI is designed to go for your workers so much. I lost a stack of 13 or so in my last game, just because I forgot to move an infantry to cover them as they built a road up into Inca territory. That bites.
