I've just bought c3c. I've installed it fine, but it won't load, it shows the first image then a black screen flases twice as though it is trying to load but can't. This happens with c3 aswell, but it always loads. Can anyone help.

have monitor that can handle 1024?

My brother-in-law had the same problem as you describe.

When he installed the latest patches to both civ 3 vanilla and c3c the problem disappeared.

I'm not sure if both patches are needed but it won't hurt to try!

I dont know what causes this but it is happening to me also as well as a couple of other people in the last couple of weeks. I made a post about it in the tech support forum but have found no answer yet.

Thread moved to Tech Support. I've also changed the title to make it a bit more discriptive.

You might want to create the civilizationiii.ini file in your Civ3 directory, and conquests.ini file in your C3C directory. Don't need to populate it with anything except the following three lines:

PlayIntro=0
VideoMode=1024
Refresh=XX
Where XX is the refresh rate of your monitor. If you don't know how to find it, check here (http://forums.civfanatics.com/showthread.php?p=2064485&postcount=3).

Note, it should be "Video Mode" (2 words). "VideoMode" doesn't work.
