View Full Version : Fanatic Mod - Everyone should help

I am currently thinking of a very cool mod that will add a few things:
- New technology: AntiGravitation
- New units: Land Transport (Hovers), Hover Tanks
- After antigravitation every unit should have its spt (squares per turn) increased
- Cities will start looking like future cities, with very very futuristic and high buildings)
- InterContinental space flight units (very expensive transport) will allow you to put a bunch of units anywhere on the map
This mod can add a lot of fun and future to the game, even if it doesnt exist yet on reality, dont you think?
Any help, ideas, posts or anythin is welcome, im open for suggestions.

Hey everyone! I've been lurking here for a while, but decided to finally Register. I've been playing the Civ games for 3 years now, and, love them! But, anyway Ice, I like the idea....it would be awesome to expand with the new Techs and units. Maybe even a new era "Futuristic" triggered by anti-gravitation? Just my ideas.

But you would need more than that for a whole new era. What about:
Two new goverments:
Technocracy (from call to power)
Resource output: +1 shield in every square that already produces one (No free will increases productivity)
Corruption/Waste: None (Constantly monitered officials have no opportunity to be corrupt)
Martial Law Units: 10 (Extremely ordered society)
Rush Job Method: Forced Labour
Additional Features: Unlimited number of citizens can be conscripted (limit set to 500 or some other obsurd number), no science or culture produced, tax income halved, immune to propaganda.
Virtual Democracy (also from CTP)
Resource output: +2 commerce in every square that already produces some (free economy lets trade flourish)
Corruption and waste: None (Transparent institutions and a mostly computer-run beauraucracy elminates scope for corruption)
Martial Law Units: None (Free society)
Rush Job method: Pay gold
Additional Features: War weariness (very high), worker speed +100%, cities immune to propaganda, science and culture doubled.
I hope all of these are possible :)

Another type of goverment:
Commercialism - God knows that a merger beetween ATI, Microsoft, NVidia, HP, Cisco and AOL will create such a goverment
Well, I think that we should just take stuff from Alpha Centauri, it's a very good Science Fiction civ-like/based game... When I say take stuff i mean all of the technologies and maybe units... as well types of goverment

This is sounding pretty good, actually. I was thinking maybe a govermnent type for a sort of Corporate Republic. As for units, we could maybe have Laser Infantry (like near the beginning of AC) and Mechs? Once again, just more ideas.

Forcefield: +100% defence to all units within city.
Mind Controller: 0 corruption, 0 resistors and 0 unhappy people in city but research quatered and culture eliminated.
Storm marine: Like paratrooper but can drop anywhere on map. (Future era)
Spy plane: Very long vision, stealth capacities, but no attack and minimal defence. (Modern era)
National shield: Free forcefield in every city.

Just calm down a bit folks. What your proposing would mostly likely have to be a new game (which kindof already exists as SMAC) or a pretty expansion pack. But first things first, Civ3 still has plenty of bugs. Don't stop dreaming though!

I think a new era is impossible to do, but adding a few more tech's and units along with them should be possible.
If we do want to do this we need some very talented moders.
Maybe we should submit this whole page to Firaxis? lol
