View Full Version : Nzinga, Sojourner and Teuta furious over Suriyothai and demand a makeover!
R8XFT Aug 21, 2004, 04:18 AM There's been a flood of emotions since Suriyothai came into the house. Nzinga, Sojourner and Teuta are furious over the salon treatment she got, that they didn't. They've demanded a free visit to the R8XFT salon for a variety of updates!

Drift Aug 21, 2004, 04:48 AM My only gripe with them is that Nzinga should be more conservative in her choice of a lipstick. Other than that, they are definite improvements over already good quality leaderheads. I especially like Sojourner.
Supa Aug 21, 2004, 04:52 AM I like way much the ancient Nzinga. I don't like the new lipstick and I prefer the old eyes.
Sojourner and Teuta are better.
NateDawgNY Aug 21, 2004, 05:13 AM They look great! :goodjob: Definitely more realistic.
Be careful R8XFT, you're setting the bar really high...
The only thing I don't like is that Nzinga's lipstick is too bright.
Supa Aug 21, 2004, 05:17 AM Ok, now, I like them all :)
R8XFT Aug 21, 2004, 05:19 AM I agree with you all about Nzinga's lipstick - and I also liked the eyes the way they used to be.
"The feedback is valid!" (Old Vic Reeves and Bob Mortimer line in the UK ;) .)
I've therefore taken Nzinga back into the salon for further makeover action, and her post has the updated version in it. She did say she prefered warfare to make-up, though....
TopGun Aug 21, 2004, 07:37 AM Nice Makeover for these three ladies who "realy" didn't need one!
But I like the new ones better. ALOT. :goodjob:
Antiochus VII Aug 21, 2004, 09:35 AM I agree with the lipstick comments, especially on Nzinga - if you add makeup in the ancient period (or others) don't make it modern comercial stuff, match it to the period ;) . Also I REALLY think the bottom lip is too big on Sojourner, it detracts from the dignity you had in the first one - but you can update them as you like, we still have the originals! :)
P.S. Are you adjusting the leaderheads size too to make them more consistent?
R8XFT Aug 21, 2004, 10:39 AM I am resizing the leaderheads to make them more consistent. I think they look better for the resize as well. As for Sojourner's bottom lip, it is the same as before, it's just that her make-up accentuates the lip. Perhaps I will amend that one :) .
When I update them, should they go in a new thread? If so, the link in my signature would always point to the most recent version. Should the old ones still be available?
Further update - Sojourner's bottom lip improved - updated preview in her post in this thread :D .
ocedius Aug 21, 2004, 11:15 AM Yes please let the old ones stay intact. Different people may have different preferences
odintheking Aug 21, 2004, 11:16 AM Sojurner pic doesn't show up on my computer.
odintheking Aug 21, 2004, 11:16 AM Never mind....
Dom Pedro II Aug 21, 2004, 12:05 PM Alright! If I ever need a Condi Rice leaderhead, I'm set!
Antiochus VII Aug 21, 2004, 12:08 PM I think you should leave the other ones available, especially if you are changing the backgrounds. You never know when one of the originals might fit in well for a scenario (hey you might even use an old one AND a new depending on how much different they look in the end! )
P.S. Almost didn't notice being caught up with the faces - are you dropping the necklace from Teuta-medieval? I kind of liked that but the new one looks good regardless.

I'd actually forgotten about the necklace and that era is now rendered (which takes a couple of hours). So it looks like it might not be in this version.
odintheking Aug 21, 2004, 12:32 PM R8FXT, what's your next project?
R8XFT Aug 21, 2004, 01:07 PM R8FXT, what's your next project?
Let me finish this one first ;) !
I've got a string of requests, but first of all, I'm going to see how these turn out, before seeing if I can give some of the male leaderheads a makeover as well (don't worry, they won't be wearing lipstick and eyeshadow!)
Rhye Aug 21, 2004, 01:19 PM As you're editing your workes, what about changing Justinian's backgrounds? (and a general improvement, is possible)
Thus, I've heard that you're making Lenin, is that true? Can you write the link?
R8XFT Aug 21, 2004, 01:54 PM The Lenin rumour is just that - a rumour. Someone got mixed up with Drift's excellent version.
Justinian was one of the earlier leaderheads (even though he was released later) and could be one to improve, however, I actually like the backgrounds on him. I know you don't like the city-in-the-background style though. I do try and take everyone's feedback into consideration when I look at improvements.
As for the three ladies in this thread - I think I'll make new threads, with a link to the old one in the first post. That way people reading each thread will understand which set of leaderheads the comments are referring to. As I said earlier, the links in my signature and leaderhead thread will point to the most up-to-date version.
Quick update - three eras of Teuta have now been done - and I've changed my mind and put the necklace back into the Medieval era :) .
Sword_Of_Geddon Aug 21, 2004, 03:24 PM Before, they were good, but after using this new add-on program you got...they look almost real....
Antiochus VII Aug 21, 2004, 04:04 PM WOW - nice industrial flc for Teuta! I like the more upper class look too (since she is a queen :) )!
Goldflash Aug 21, 2004, 04:55 PM Yeah, you gotta redo the Goldflash Leaderhead to this quality, too!
Sword_Of_Geddon Aug 21, 2004, 05:12 PM If he does that I'll make new versions of the Medival and Industrial Era Goldflashes..... :p
Goldflash Aug 21, 2004, 05:37 PM If he does that I'll make new versions of the Medival and Industrial Era Goldflashes..... :p
No, you'll leave my face alone
Sword_Of_Geddon Aug 21, 2004, 05:44 PM You can't stop me....mhahahahaha! :p
But we can....
Mobilize Aug 21, 2004, 06:16 PM Teuta is now the best looking female leaderhead available.
Bravo! :)
Great job, perhaps some makeovers for your other leaders.
:goodjob:
Sword_Of_Geddon Aug 21, 2004, 06:24 PM The moderators not known that I was kidding...Either that or they don't like me or something...
Corvex Aug 21, 2004, 11:52 PM Teuta looks more realistic. I didn't really mind the older versions of the others.
R8XFT Aug 22, 2004, 05:57 AM It's the boy's turn to go into makeover mode. I found that leaderheads where I used Don as the model (few and far between, but Justinian was one of these) don't seem to respond favourably to the process. However, here's an example of what I can now do:
http://www.civfanatics.net/uploads8/R8XFTupdate01.jpg
Moshoeshoe seems to be the biggest change. In order to use this sheen, I've had to drop the facepaint. I think that there's a noticable difference in the others, but it's more of a "polished" version of each leaderhead rather than a change.
Supa Aug 22, 2004, 06:44 AM Mh, too bad you had to give up the painted face. I'll make sure I've already downloaded the old one.
R8XFT Aug 22, 2004, 08:33 AM Mh, too bad you had to give up the painted face. I'll make sure I've already downloaded the old one.
There'll be plenty of time to do that. These are just practice pieces. It'll be a while before I update them :) .
Corvex Aug 22, 2004, 10:23 AM Something looks wrong with Moshoeshoe's lips.
All the others look pretty good.
Goldflash Aug 22, 2004, 10:29 AM Honestly, the Old Moeshoeshoe looks better. He ust isn't the same without the face paint
durfal Aug 22, 2004, 10:40 AM Wow man, the girls and boys both look great. Even though they are only fast trials they look already very good. I'm anctions for your make overs if they are complete.
Good luck with all of them.
R8XFT Aug 22, 2004, 11:49 AM The gent's changes were just quick tries, so Moshoeshoe et al would get more work done on them if I decided to do them. The key behind the project was to both improve my style and provide a revamp for those that I personally felt needed it. In my opinion, Teuta needed an update more than most, so that's why she got the treatment. I'll upload her as soon as I sort out FTP access with Thunderfall :) .
Sword_Of_Geddon Aug 22, 2004, 02:01 PM All you have to do now is get Michael and you'll be able to make almost any kind of leaderhead imaginable R8XFT! :goodjob:
R8XFT Aug 22, 2004, 02:08 PM All you have to do now is get Michael and you'll be able to make almost any kind of leaderhead imaginable R8XFT! :goodjob:
I've had Michael 3 for some time, Sword_Of_Geddon. It's what most of my male leaderheads are made from.
Sword_Of_Geddon Aug 22, 2004, 02:16 PM Really? I thought you were using something else? My fault...not familiar with all these Leaderhead making tools.
Wolfwood Aug 22, 2004, 07:26 PM Excellent, excellent! Cannot wait for the new Sojourner! :)
