A relatively small conversion on the footwear of the original Firaxis Infantry (which is the American counterpart). More fitting to the realities of trench warfare this unit has now been given bootstraps and should complement the Firaxis infantry as flavour unit for England. The Unit features some new "Tommy" sounds.

But were they as heavily supplied as regular troops. It was my understanding that backpacks made trench travel cumbersome so they were without backpacks other than basic ammo.
Nice conversion nonetheless

Thank you :)
Removing the backpack via cut & paste would have been too troublesome for a "quick" conversion. It is in fact harder to take away things from the animation than adding stuff into it. Interestingly enough firaxis initialy made a mistake with the backpack and the sleeping bag on top of it- this back pack was at least not the standard type used in WWI yet seems to be some sort of medium-sized one.

Not entirely... there is a difference. Look at the legs.

Here you can see the type of "over-shoe" thingy the US troops were wearing as opposed to the British.

This is an interesting one: US troops wearing captured German "Pickelhaube" helmets of a Prussian Regiment. Note the foot wear.

The difference is subtle, but noticeable. It is a perfect flavor unit and in a WWI scenario you need little variations like this between ally nations to enhance the realism still further.
Thanks for the work!

In the southeast run animation there is the legendary ghost pixel error going on... Nice addition nonetheless...
