Colonization and conquest along with battle is guarentied. It took me 2 weeks and trying not to make all islands look the same but it was well worth it.

It's a 290 x 290 map (or something around that). I love the idea, but this map is much to large for me. Here is a minimap preview. :)

just because it looks GOOD doesn't mean it is gerenarated lol.

Well, if it is, he spent a LONG time adding extra resources to it. The editor never places different resources in adjacent tiles.

Tell u what, I am going to make a map with my initials that looks just as good as that to prove how easy this is. then the people will believe be right back

Ok i wrote my whole name(John) because i wanted it to be playable.

Cool map. I'd give it a go but I hate long turns so I play smaller maps ... I wish I had a system that could run it fast though.

BTW - There's no way that that is a random map. I usually make or manipulate a map in the editor once a day minimum because I found that almost as enjoyable as playing civ. The computer would never build a world in that fasion.

My guess on the John map is you made the terrain and then hit 'genereate resources' :p

Cool map :goodjob: obviously a lot of work went into it. But, generally i don't play maps with lots of islands 'cause i find that the AI isn't as interesting an opponent as he otherwise could be - the AI is not very good at island invasions.
however, the map would be awesome in a multiplayer game :D

i dont know, i kinda like island hoping an creating a inter island empire.

It is partially random-generated. He just added an island or two. Will post how I got this answer later. Sleepy-time.

why would i partially randmize it?

Step 1. Download Map.

Step 2. Open map in editor.

Step 3. Select 'Map'.

Step 4. Select 'Generate Map'.

Step 5. Copy down all the numbers you see in the 'Generate Map' window, including size, and the random seed. If it's 3 billion, copy down 3 billion. (The seed for this map is 11164031)

Step 6. Go to a new map.

Step 7. Go to 'Map'.

Step 8. Go to 'Generate Map'.

Step 9. Input all those numbers in this case;

Size: 290x290
80% Ocean Coverage
Archipelago
Wet
Warm
3 Billion Years
No Barbarians
World Seed 11164031

The above is all the data you should have copied down from Damnyankee's "Hipotea" file.

Step 10. Generate. Compare with Hipotea.
