Since Roman Legionary vs. (Insert warrior class from random part of the world at a random time) is all the rage these days, I've decided to make my own thread. Who would win, the Trajan era Roman legionary, or the World War II era U.S. marine. Your thoughts?

Wow, this is the best of these threads so far. Now all we need is Xen coming in and telling us the legionary would win due to organization or cohesion of line or some other thing. ;)

Marine; though I'm happy to say that the second legion, if hended the equpiment, could make damned fine marines of thier own (considering that is what they were specilized to do; amphibious operations)

that and the fact that the moral victory is for the legionary; it it hadnt been for Roman military tradition in the first place, the marines wouldnt exist ;)

All they'd have to do is crawl into a few Middle-eastern Caves and send out a few Death Threats each year.
