View Full Version : Graphics Mod Pack used in GOTM/COTM LeSphinx Sep 01, 2004, 10:44 AM As I'm a little tire of seing always the same graphics with my Civ PTW/C3C version, I'm wondering if a lot of players have installed a Graphics Mod pack and which ? LeSphinx leif erikson Sep 01, 2004, 12:58 PM I have used both Snoopy's Terrain Pack and Warpstorms Watercolor Terrain PacK. I like both of them. I now have Snoopy's installed because, with my aging eyes, I can distinguish the terrain types better. Speaking of aging eye, I have also installed several of the pophead downloads at the request of my SGOTM teamates. I can now easily see when cities are going to revolt due to unhappiness and take the necessary steps to prevent it. Hope that helps. LeSphinx Sep 02, 2004, 01:30 AM leif erikson, I try also to install the Snoopy's Terrrain Pack in the /scenario folder as specified in the readme file but i can not play a GOTM/COTM game. Thanks for the help LeSphinx ainwood Sep 02, 2004, 01:49 AM What problems are you having LeSphinx? It should work alright. :hmm: LeSphinx Sep 02, 2004, 01:55 AM ainwood, it is working perfectly : I''m OK but with a scenario. I can not play with this package at the GOTM/COTM ! What I have to do ? Thanks LeSphinx ainwood Sep 02, 2004, 02:02 AM Well, to install sn00pys terrain, Well, first of all, back-up everything in your civ3\art\terrain\ folder and your civ3\art\cities\ folder. Then, go to you civ3\civ3ptw\scenarios folder, and you will see another folder called 'sn00pys terrain'. Open that folder, and you will see an 'art' subdirectory. I believe that all you need to do is to copy the files in this directory over the top of the files in your civ3\art\ directory. There may be a better way to do this though, so watch this thread for a few hours and see if someone gives you a better reply! Bonsaļ Sep 02, 2004, 02:13 AM Speaking of aging eye, I have also installed several of the pophead downloads at the request of my SGOTM teamates. I can now easily see when cities are going to revolt due to unhappiness and take the necessary steps to prevent it. What do you have install to see easily when cities are going to revolt ? I have always this problem ! LeSphinx Sep 02, 2004, 02:52 AM Thanks ainwood. I will keep an eye on this threat during the day to see... LeSphinx leif erikson Sep 02, 2004, 06:47 AM @LeSphinz - I did what Ainwood said, mostly. I decided to change all my Civ3 games over because I liked it. I backed up my civ3 and civ3 conquests ART/terrain and ART/cities folders by renaming them and then putting the Snoopy's version into the /ART/ folders. Here is the << link >> (http://forums.civfanatics.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=68702) to the thread that discusses it. Of course, if you don't want the original terrain packs that came with the game, you can simply overwrite the folders in the /ART/ folder. leif erikson Sep 02, 2004, 06:56 AM What do you have install to see easily when cities are going to revolt ? I have always this problem ! I know how you feel!! You really need to visit the graphics modpack libraries. Those guys do amazing things with the civ program. Use this << LINK >> (http://forums.civfanatics.com/showthread.php?t=46100) to go to the thread. When you get there, scroll down a ways and click on "Citizen Icons". It takes a minute on dial-up, but you will be rewarded with a whole section on mood badges. Personally, i downloaded and installed the "larger mood badges" so they would show up prominently when I checked the F1 screen. Good luck, it is worth it!! LeSphinx Sep 02, 2004, 07:25 AM Thanks leif erikson LeSphinx mad-bax Sep 02, 2004, 07:35 AM What do you have install to see easily when cities are going to revolt ? I have always this problem ! ...or you could use ainwoods utility instead/aswell. Neil. LeSphinx Sep 03, 2004, 08:04 AM eldar, Where do you find the Utility GOTM and COTM safe ? Thanks because I installed yesterdays the package with C3C and it doesn"t work LeSphinx Dianthus Sep 03, 2004, 08:08 AM LeSphinx, you could try using my CRpMapStat, that also warns about unhappiness, is GOTM safe, and works with C3C. See the link in my sig. LeSphinx Sep 03, 2004, 08:10 AM Dianthus, Sorry I did not understand you spoke about the utility CRpMapStat. I was speaking about the Graphics Mods pack to use with GOTM/COTM! LeSphinx TheNemesis666 Sep 03, 2004, 09:42 AM he meant for happiness, crpmapstat pops up and warns when you have more unhappy than happy. (well you can set it to pop up for heaps of things, more sad than happy is my favourite reminder though) oh and Dianthus, CRPMapStat rocks. Ta dude. :D leif erikson Sep 03, 2004, 12:45 PM eldar, Where do you find the Utility GOTM and COTM safe ? LeSphinx leif erikson Sep 06, 2004, 06:42 AM @ leif erikson Every thing, the game C3C is not lunching when I installed the graphic mod snoopy! LeSphinx Sorry to hear that I have not been able to help you. I wonder if it has to do with language differences? I see you are already working with people in the mod forum, that is the best idea. They can help you more than I can as they create the graphics. Good luck. LeSphinx Sep 06, 2004, 06:44 AM Thanks anyway leif erikson. LeSphinx |
