I'm using 1.29b2 in 10.3.5, and had just installed /and/ removed Phoenix's "Best WWII scenario" map thing (after seeing the dreaded 'perminant change in ruler names' bug, though the names and titles are now default).

Now, when I try to launch the tutorial, it gets either "31%" or "36%" finished loading, and then says that it can't use the tutorial with modified rules.

I installed a fresh copy in another folder, updated it to 1.29b2, and had the same thing happen in the process of launching the tutorial.

The game seems to work fine, however, I don't want to play it at the risk of finding that i haven't been playing the game I thought I was.

How do i make the tutorial work in 1.29b2?

What tutorial? Is that in a later release?

Tutorial Mode, it's the button right under 'Load Scenario.'

It starts you off (like Quick Start mode) as the Romans on Chieftan with a randomly small world, and it gives you civ tips as you play.

I just reinstalled a clean version and upgraded the app to 1.21g, so the editor AND the Tutorial both work.

Well, it is possible that I just never noticed any 'rule changes' in 1.29b2 before because I never chanced to touch the Tutorial mode since upgrading…

Ideas? Anyone?

I have 1.29b2 also and my tutorial mode works fine. I don't know why yours doesn't work.

Perhaps your base civ3.bic file has been inadvertently modified?
