Any advice would be good thanks. citizen001 Sep 07, 2004, 07:31 PM Anyone....? Godwynn Sep 07, 2004, 08:12 PM What kind of games? Strategy, RPG, MMORPG, Action, Simulation? CivCube Sep 07, 2004, 08:24 PM If you're looking for a good adventure game, "Uru: Complete Chronicles" is definitely worth a buy. citizen001 Sep 08, 2004, 12:50 AM Any games really, as long as they are fun to play. Yeah i'll give Uru a try. Does it have hefty system requirements though? Elgalad Sep 08, 2004, 03:42 AM This is sorta the lull before the storm. This fall (and winter) expect a plethora of great games... Sims 2, Pirates! 2, World of Warcraft, Everquest 2, SWG's space expansion, Half-Life 2, and many more. All should be out by Christmas (hopefully). Sims 2 is first now, coming out next week. -Elgalad Volum Sep 08, 2004, 05:04 AM Rome: Total War, youl need a good computer tough. Or you could buy a Playstation 2 and GTA San Andreas ;) Elgalad Sep 08, 2004, 05:20 AM I knew I forgot one! And that's a huge one.. they sent me a calendar, every month is a screenshot from the alpha/beta version, they are Incredible. I also understand that the engine is being used by History channel to depict ancient wars now. That says a lot about their realism and flexibility. I'm very much looking forward to its release. Gogamer says September 22 which means it's probably gone gold or soon will. Keep your fingers crossed. :D -Elgalad Thrawn Sep 08, 2004, 05:34 AM Well, my local ebgames has the boxes in store, so I'd say very soon. :) There's also Star Wars Battlefront and Full Spectrum Warrior coming out later this month. SWB has the potential to be the greatest game ever, (I've pre-ordered it heh), and I played FSW on my mates xbox, and loved it. So many games coming out, so little cash. :( citizen001 Sep 08, 2004, 07:53 AM Full Spectrum Warrior, ill be sure to get that, but isn't it out already? and ill put Rome Total War on my list as well. Thanks guys. Dell19 Sep 08, 2004, 10:04 AM Amazon seems to think that Rome total war will be out early in october, at least in the UK... CivCube Sep 08, 2004, 04:31 PM Any games really, as long as they are fun to play. Yeah i'll give Uru a try. Does it have hefty system requirements though? Sort of.... Windows XP/Me/2000/98SE 800Mhz Pentium III or AMD Athlon 256 Mb RAM 4x CD ROM Drive Video Card: 32 MB NVIDIA(r) GeForce(tm) 1, 2, 3, 4, or FX; ATI(r) Radeon(tm) 7000-9800 or better DirectX 9.0 compatible Audio Card DirectX version: 9.0 (supplied with game) 2 GB Hard Disk space Free 800x600 16 bit display Mouse and keyboard Thrawn Sep 08, 2004, 05:35 PM Full Spectrum Warrior, ill be sure to get that, but isn't it out already? I know the xbox version is, but I dunno if the pc version is out in the states yet. I know it's coming out here sometime this month. :) citizen001 Sep 08, 2004, 06:35 PM @ CivCube, that's exactly what my system is, too bad those are minimum system reqs, i bet it'll lag like no tomorrow on my comp. :( @Thrawn ill check gamespot for details. Imperium08 Sep 08, 2004, 11:25 PM I didn't want to post a new topic, and my post seemed to fit into this thread most easily: I'm looking for a new game to pour serious time into. I'm not set into a certain genre of games, but I tend to enjoy simulation, RPG, (in some cases MMORPG, but I don't care to add to FFXI at the moment) empire-building games, (or building in general- Sim Tower was a good example, 5 years ago) and real time or turn based strategy games. Some games I've enjoyed in the past are: -Morrowind, -Most of the Final Fantasy games (VIII-XI, Tactics) -Civilization 2 & 3 -The Sims -Roller Coaster Tychoon (needed some serious reworking though- got bored in less than 15 hours) -Rise of Nations -All of the Harvest Moon games I have played so far... -The "Thief" series of games -NEVERWINTER NIGHTS!!! I've heard this isn't even the best DnD game, but I spent around 200 hours on it, over 3 years (Had it, quit, started again, quit, started again) and I found it to be a lot more fun than Icewind Dale II, which is probably because Icewind Dale II is horribly outdated. If you have tastes similiar to mine, maybe you can suggest a game. PC & PS2 are the systems I currently have working (my gamecube broke) Whew... long post. edit: added "Thief"... how could I have forgotton those games? Elgalad Sep 08, 2004, 11:34 PM Did you like Diablo 2? If so, give Sacred a try, it's not a super long game (I think, havent finished it yet!) but it's very similar to Diablo in gameplay and has many nice features that Diablo didnt. There are many more subquests and a nice system for character development. I also noticed from your list that you havent tried Knights of the Old Republic. That one's a new classic, get it. The sequel should be out maybe this Christmas season? As for strategy games, Tropico and Tropico 2 are always fun to kill some time. :crazyeye: Lots of replayability too. Finally, Spellforce: The Order of Dawn. An excellent hybrid of rpg and real time stragey game. Hope one of those works for ya! -Elgalad Imperium08 Sep 09, 2004, 12:34 AM Thanks for the great response, Elgalad. I used to play Diablo 2 (back in the days of 1.09 I was pretty rich) and I got tired of all the mass cheating. I've been eyeing KoToR for a while, so I think I'm going to try that one. My brother bought tropico 1, and one day I had some time to kill, so I popped in the disk. I couldn't even understand how to play, but I didn't spend much time trying to figure it out. Anyways, I'll look into those games (I've never heard of Sacred... I'll look at some reviews for it) citizen001 Sep 09, 2004, 06:24 AM whoo Knights of the Old Republic eh? i'll certainly give that a try? i read the gamespot reviews n stuff and it scored pretty well. 3D rpg is usually a rarety buh hope it doesn't lag too much on a slower comp. andvruss Sep 09, 2004, 11:03 AM Call of Duty: United Offensive comes out next week :D. citizen001 Sep 09, 2004, 11:39 PM Call of Duty: United Offensive comes out next week :D. Nice, played the original COD finished it in about 10 hrs. Hope this one lasts longer. andvruss Sep 10, 2004, 10:29 AM Hm....let me check my xifre profile. I have played 262 hours of CoD multiplayer since march, and have had the game since january. CoD single player took me 7 hours. CoD MP:300+ plus leagues, clans, scrims, etc. (as I have said in many other threads, MP is far better than SP usually). deo Sep 10, 2004, 01:51 PM Check Soldiers: Heroes of world war II. Played the demo... I love this game, it's so real and you can drive tanks like in battlefield 1942 but in 3rd person. citizen001 Sep 10, 2004, 09:39 PM Hm....let me check my xifre profile.
