Slowly honing my skills, I moved on to Brittain at regent level, on a wet archipelago. I got mapmaking early and built the lighthouse. I filled the 2/3 of my island that was not a huge jungle, and set up colonies on 4 other islands spanning the globe, as well as contacting everyone. Japan was "Gracious" with me right up till they marched soldiers onto my islands. I asked them to declare war or get out. They declared war. I threw my puny colony defenses at them and lost. SO I traded the empty colony cities to Egypt for alot of gold and planned to go to Republic and concentrate on domestic issues. Except I accidentally gave them Brighton instead of Birmingham - a big city in my midst! (serves me right for not naming my own cities). So my new "peacenik" government got into a war with Egypt, lost more colonies to Japan, and sunk our loaded Galleon fighting a trireme. All hope of winning is gone, but the challenge of surviving is a thrill.

So, after what, 2½ years, what happened to this game?
