View Full Version : SGOTM4 A New Beginning - Announcement and Sign UP Thread
mad-bax Sep 12, 2004, 02:02 PM SGOTM4 - A New Beginning. Announcement and Sign Up Thread.
Hi everyone, and welcome to the SGOTM4 Sign UP thread. The general idea of SGOTM is for competing teams to play a Succession Game based on a GOTM scenario. SGOTM4 is based on GOTM-28 India and is set at Monarch difficulty. This scenario was ainwoods first map for GOTM, hence the game title. The game is available in CivIII 1.29f and PTW 1.27f formats and Mac players are welcome to play. A Conquests version of this game WILL NOT be provided.
Because this game is based on one of the later GOTMs' it will be necessary for 1.29f players to install the GOTM mod up to GOTM25. Both"vanilla" and PTW players will need to install new resources graphics and a new pediaicons.txt file. Complete instructions on how to do this are provided in the second post of this thread.
Note: EVERYONE has to install the correct resource graphics whether or not they have played this scenario or GOTM before.
The game will start on the 20th September, so sign up (either individually or as a team) by posting in this thread. Please note that self-constructed teams are restricted to a maximum of four members to which I may add one or two players for balancing purposes.
Here is the start position.

This Months' sponsored variant is 5 City Challenge the rules for which are as follows.
1. You may not end a turn with more than 5 cities....
.... and that is it.
Please Sign UP by posting in this thread. If you have not played SGOTM before, please include:-
1. The software version you would like to play.
2. Whether you would like to play the sponsored variant or not.
3. The level of game that you feel comfortable playing (Monarch, Deity etc.).
4. If you wish to enter as a team then please state the teams name and it's members.
mad-bax Sep 12, 2004, 02:03 PM Everyone needs to follow at least one of the steps set out below. Please read the post carefully and follow the step(s) that are relevent to you. If you mess it up, don't panic. Just e-mail me at S_GOTM@gotm.civfanatics.net or PM me or any of the GOTM staff. We will help you.
SGOTM4 Setup for ALL PTW Players
Those people wishing to play SGOTM4 using the PTW software need to download >>THIS<< (http://www.civfanatics.net/uploads8/SGOTM4-PTWb.zip) file. Unzip this file into your Civilization/Civ3PTW/Scenarios directory. If you do this correctly you should find a new SGOTM4 folder in your Scenarios directory. If you wish to mess around with the resources files, then there is a readme file in this new directory that tells you how. Otherwise, you can just go ahead and play the game with the set of resources graphics I have provided by default.
SGOTM4 Setup for CivIII 1.29f players (including Mac) who have not setup to play GOTM25 or later.
If you are playing Civ III 1.29f and have not played GOTM25 or beyond, then you need to download and install some game packs that add some different units, resources and civilizations to the game.
You can get the install packs at the following links:
GOTM 21 Full setup:
http://gotm.civfanatics.net/games/saves/gotm21_v129_full_setup.exe
GOTM22 Add-On Setup:
http://gotm.civfanatics.net/games/saves/gotm22_v129_add_on_setup.exe
GOTM23 Add-on Setup:
http://gotm.civfanatics.net/games/saves/gotm23_v129_add_on_setup.exe
GOTM24 Add-On Setup:
http://gotm.civfanatics.net/games/saves/gotm24_v129_add_on_setup.exe
GOTM 25 Add-On Setup:
http://gotm.civfanatics.net/games/saves/gotm25_v129_add_on_setup.exe
All you need to do is download these, and then install them in the order that you download them. The key point is to make sure that when the installer asks where you want to install to, that you make sure that it installs to the directory where you installed Civ to in the first place. You now need to go ahead and install the correct resource pack for the game. Instructions for this are set out in the next section.
Resources and PediaIcons setup for ALL CivIII 1.29f players
Because there are a lot of people who play SGOTM but not GOTM, I have re-mapped the resources files so that they will not interfere with a "normal" game. The new resources can be found >>HERE<< (http://www.civfanatics.net/uploads8/SGOTM4-129f.zip). Unzip this file into your Civilization/Scenarios directory. If you do this correctly you should find a new directory called SGOTM4 in your Scenarios folder. If you open this new folder you will find a readme file which explains how to install the files you require for this game.
If you have any problems with either the installation of these files, changing the resources.pcx files or any error messages playing the game of the month, then please don't hesitate to e-mail or send a PM to myself or one of the GOTM staff. :)
Test Saves
CivIII 1.29f (Vanilla)
Vanilla test save (http://www.civfanatics.net/uploads8/SGOTM4-129test.SAV)
CivIII PTW
PTW test save (http://www.civfanatics.net/uploads8/SGOTM4-PTWtest.SAV)
You should see sheep in the start position. If you see no animals then you probably have the standard resources installed. If you see goats (even though the terrain info button will say sheep), then you are probably using GOTM resources.
bed_head7 Sep 12, 2004, 02:13 PM I would like to play in this one in PTW.
Edit: The requested info section was added after I posted, I think. At least I don't remember seeing it.
I'll play the variant.
I guess Emperor is the level where I am comfortable yet challenged.
I have never played a SGOTM so I don't have a team in mind.
Karasu Sep 12, 2004, 02:15 PM First signup! :yeah:
Staff team, I guess? :D
EDIT: Damn, already beaten! ;)
I hope this won't happen in the game too, nor in the Ebay auction for which I am scouting the web right now...
conehead234 Sep 12, 2004, 02:17 PM I'm signing up.
civ_steve Sep 12, 2004, 02:33 PM Well we've still got a few more pesky non-Romans to rid the world of in SGOTM3, but I should be available for SGOTM4!

1. The software version you would like to play.
= Civ v1.29

= Monarch->Emperor when it's a GOTM start.
4. If wish to enter a team then please state the teams names and it's members.

zamint3 Sep 12, 2004, 03:17 PM 2. Whether you would like to play the sponsored variant or not.

ainwood Sep 12, 2004, 03:47 PM Stuckified! :yeah:

WackenOpenAir Sep 12, 2004, 04:13 PM 1. PTW

1. I would like to use the Play the World expansion version 1.27f

Offa Sep 13, 2004, 10:41 AM I'd like to play again as I didn't play this first time round. I see you changed sgotm3 quite a lot from the original anyway.
PTW would be most convenient but civ3 is fine if I can manage the downloads.
I don't mind about level or variants.
grs Sep 13, 2004, 10:58 AM 1. I don't mind.
2. Depends on the team.
3. Emperor/Demi-God/Deity - depending on civ and start position.
4. No preference.
RowAndLive Sep 13, 2004, 11:36 AM Checking in!
1. PTW preferred

Could we have a test game to load to verify the mod install?
You could go back & load GOTM25.
AlanH Sep 13, 2004, 03:15 PM [EDIT]Whoops! Mix up on my games. Sorry
Demiurge Sep 13, 2004, 03:39 PM Another Team tao member signing up.
1. Version: Civ3 1.29
2. Variant: Definately
3. Level: Emperor
4. Team tao (4 members to date): tao, Zwingli, Furiey, Demiurge
Kaiser_Berger Sep 13, 2004, 04:57 PM 1. PTW 1.27
2. 5CC=FUN :D
3. Demigod, Deity with good start.
4. Perhaps Team Ivan if they decide to go PTW, otherwise I have no preference. Meeting new players is always fun.
smackster Sep 13, 2004, 04:59 PM I'm in for team Smackster
So far team Smackster has : Smackster, Wotan, Tarkeel, Dmanakho
Waiting on DeceasedHorse
coletite Sep 13, 2004, 06:52 PM I'm in.
1) either
2) varient sounds fun, but I'm not picky
3) Monarch
4) Team Handy if everyone else is willing.
Bede Sep 13, 2004, 07:32 PM I'm in.
1. PTW
2. Variant
3. Emperor
4. Players I haven't played with before.
fbouthil Sep 13, 2004, 07:48 PM Sign me up. I have not played a SGOTM before and have very limited experience with SG (2 games only).
1. PTW because there seems to be much less downloading to do. May go vanilla if needed.
2. I will try the variant but have no experience with variants in general...
3. I do not get much challenge anymore at Monarch level, but am still having difficulties at Emperor level. I am used to play C3C and am not familiar with the strategies that do not work in C3C.
4. Any as I know very few players.
I have not played the original GOTM either (did not even know CFC at the time).
Zakharov Sep 13, 2004, 08:01 PM Stumbled across SGOTM in July, but too late to sign up, so please count me in this time.
1. PTW (but can do 1.29 if needed)
2. I would like to try the variant
3. Monarch
4. Any team
DJMGator13 Sep 13, 2004, 08:22 PM Welcome to the Forums  :band:
And your first post is to sign up :goodjob:
gozpel Sep 13, 2004, 08:28 PM Signing up.
1. PTW is preferred.
2. Variant if the team wants that.
3. Deity plus or above :) Below is also fine. ;)
4. Anyone that wants to have me.
DeceasedHorse Sep 13, 2004, 11:33 PM I'm in like flynn
rrau Sep 13, 2004, 11:56 PM count me in, too.
1. ptw preferred, but can do vanilla if needed
2. ?variant - never tried a 5CC, but may feel up to attempting with a strong team
3. have improved to mostly win monarch and sometimes emperor
4. any team
mad-bax Sep 14, 2004, 01:27 AM Could we have a test game to load to verify the mod install?
I will upload a couple of saves to verify the install, but it will have to wait until Thursday as I am travelling over the next two days.
Because the resources have been re-mapped other GOTM games will not work correctly.
Detlef Richter Sep 14, 2004, 03:31 AM Sign me in.
1. I prefer PTW but can also play Vanilla (both of them with latest patch)
2. Variant or Not ? Who cares, i'am ready to all.
3. Monarch, Emperor, Deity, with a good team, i think it's all not a problem
4. I hope team Mauer gets up (Mauer are you ready to play?) If not, put me something else (perhaps at a team with scoutsout, it's amazing to learn from his experience).
denyd Sep 14, 2004, 11:05 AM Sounds like it's culture time again, a good shot for us builder types.
I prefer PTW, but have all available.
No preference on the variant as long as it's not always war with the xenophobic option.
Anything below Diety.
I'd like to play with Bugsy's Bunnies as in the prior games.
stagnate Sep 14, 2004, 12:22 PM I'm in.
PTW
Variant
strong at monarch, don't play emperor much
Any team
chunkymonkey Sep 14, 2004, 12:38 PM OK count me in for this one.
I haven't played a SGOTM before so play nice. ;)
1. PTW 1.27
2. Wouldn't mind playing the variant for a laugh, but would be happy with a standard game.
3. Comfortable at Monarch, very few losses at Emperor.
4. Anybody who can deal with my bedside manner.
Sir Bugsy Sep 14, 2004, 03:41 PM I'm in.
It looks like most of Team Bugs will be back. We're still trying to figure out the variant or not.
PTW or 1.29
Variant - either way
Demi-God (comfortable) to Deity (can play it but is deity ever comfortable?)
Team Bugs
grs Sep 14, 2004, 05:05 PM Demi-God (comfortable) to Deity (can play it but is deity ever comfortable?) Just thought so till LK73 - which was a really comfortable deity game from the start till now (not ended yet), but otherwise I agree :)
TheNemesis666 Sep 15, 2004, 12:18 AM 1. PTW
2. I would like to play the variant
3. I am comfortable playing on Emperor
4. Any team is fine
klarius Sep 15, 2004, 06:47 AM Well, this is a sign-up for a new team.
The players I got positive answers up to now are:
grs
Offa
gozpel
And ok, I, klarius would also participate.
I also invited WackenOpenAir, but had no reply up to now.
He is still invited, but may have to stand back if mad-bax thinks the team gets to strong.
I think we will play PtW, if I didn't miss somebody having a problem.
We are still undecided for variant or not, but are decided that it will be not a peaceful variant.
All players (except me) say they are comfortable at deity.
I won a few deities, but don't call it comfortable.
I. Larkin Sep 15, 2004, 07:27 AM 1. Vanila 129.f only
2. I would like to play the variant (5 CC)
3. I am comfortable playing on Deity
4. Ivan's team.
PS I'd like to have storong deputy team leader. If not Kaiser Berg, find somebody please.
PPS. Never able to install resources for GOTM. Never tried hard enough, however.
Taliesin Sep 15, 2004, 08:52 AM I'm in.
1. PTW
2. I think I'll try the variant this time.
3. Monarch/Emperor
4. Unfortunately, I'm fairly sure Mauer is opting out of this one. If alamo, zamint and Detlef Richter are willing, I'd love to play again with them (for the sake of continuity we could even keep the same name). It might be more fair this way, since we all know the barbarian puzzle's solution. Anyway, I'll confirm our team by PM and post later on.
AdrianE Sep 15, 2004, 09:12 AM I'll play
1. Civ 1.29
2. don't care
3. Emporer
4. Its time for a change. I'd like to play for a different team to see other styles of play.
I'd also like to suggest that we ban a few of the cheesier tactics. Resource disconnection, palace jumping (I really liked your rule in the Babylon SGOTM where you lost 10% of your score if you moved your capital after 100BC), ship chaining were all really cheesy tactics used in the past SGOTM. That kind of bs spoils the experience for me.
grahamiam Sep 15, 2004, 09:36 AM signing in with team bugs.
PTW or Civ3
varient prefered, but we don't have any 5cc experts so our 5th needs to be a ringer :D
diety
Sir Bugsy Sep 15, 2004, 10:08 AM MB,
Team Bugs is retaining 2/3rds of our membership
Denyd
grahamiam
Row&Live
Bugs
We'll be playing the variant on PTW. I think I'm the only one who has played a 5CC before.
mad-bax Sep 15, 2004, 10:21 AM Test saves for the installation have been inserted into post 2.
Mauer Sep 15, 2004, 11:29 AM 4. Unfortunately, I'm fairly sure Mauer is opting out of this one.
Just to clarify for my former teammates. Sorry guys, I won't be up for this :( . Probably won't be up for any SG's for quite some time. Good luck though :goodjob:
viper275 Sep 15, 2004, 11:32 AM Sign me up. Probably have a bit too much going on right now but I just can't miss an SGOTM (I'll make time!)
1: PTW.
2: Playing a 5CC SG right now, don't care too much either way. If anyone else on the team wants it then I'm all for it, no preference from me.
3: I play on Emperor most of the time but I can just win on Monarch. Still do well on Emperor and probably could win if I really concentrated. So Monarch easy (relaxed) or Emperor for a challenge.
4: No preference here, this is my first SGOTM.
jeffelammar Sep 15, 2004, 01:48 PM Ok, I guess I've been debating, but I have decided that I'd like to play, so I will commit to it.
1. PTW
2. Variant is fine, or not.
3. I usually play Emporer, and can beat Diety given a slightly above average start.
4. Any team is fine.
mad-bax Sep 16, 2004, 02:30 AM Well, it just wouldn't be SGOTM without me making a mistake. A copy and paste error means that the PTW download had the vanilla pediaIcons file in it.
I have fixed it now.
If you get an error about the Internet being missing from pediaicons, then you will have to download the file again (from the same link in post 2) and re-install.
I'm sorry, but I guess you will be getting used to it by now. ;)
alamo Sep 16, 2004, 12:22 PM No problem for me - I'm comfortably trailing the pack on the install. Thanks for those test games.
The team formerly known as Mauer contemplates a reprise.
Mauer - pass
alamo - ok
Taliesin - ok
Detlef Richter -ok
zamint3 - maybe
Sark6354201 - ?
CKS Sep 16, 2004, 03:40 PM I want to play.
1. PTW
2. Either is fine.
3. I can usually win on Monarch, but I wouldn't exactly say I'm comfortable at this level.
4. Any team will do.
mad-bax Sep 17, 2004, 10:37 AM This is the player list I have so far. The last column is whether you want to play the variant or not. Please check for accuracy, particularly the way your nick is spelled, because this has to match what you will type on the submissions page.
http://www.civfanatics.net/uploads8/SGOTM4-Roster.jpg
Mathilda Sep 17, 2004, 11:22 AM I'd love to play.
1. PTW
2. Never tried a 5CC, but willing to try
3. Monarch
4. New to this so i'll be happy with any team that can keep the thing moving.
mad-bax Sep 17, 2004, 11:24 AM What level would you normally play a Solo game Mathilda?
Xposted - Sorry
DJMGator13 Sep 17, 2004, 11:35 AM @MB - How about a pregame discussion thread. Don't want to spam up the sign-up thread.
I've not played a 5cc and would be interested in hearing some strategies and tatics for one. Also does anyone know of a good 5cc SG to read up on. I've read the WA article.
Please don't respond until we see if MB opens up a pregame/discussion thread.
Keith Larson Sep 17, 2004, 11:35 AM 1) PTW
2) Variant
3) Any Level
4) Team Peanut again please
Tone Sep 17, 2004, 01:26 PM I've never played a succession game but would like to give it a go if I'm not too late.
1) Either but prefer PtW
2) I'd prefer to go for 5CC but could be persuaded to play a non-variant game.
3) Emperor. I've had some success on Diety but not 'comfortable'.
4) Any team that'll have me :)
alamo Sep 17, 2004, 01:34 PM Taliesen team wants to be moderated by alamo (spelled with little 'a').
Also, the team wants to try the variant.
Anyone with 5CC experience is encouraged to join!
klarius Sep 17, 2004, 01:50 PM I never played a modded Gotm before.
I had to note that the PtW setup in post 2 is not enough. You still have to download the PtW Gotm 21-25 stuff, if you want the civilopedia to work with the test save.
So one would probably run in other errors during the game, if not having the complete mod packages.
mad-bax Sep 17, 2004, 03:31 PM Hang on klarius... you'll start a panic. :nono:
This is a result of me trying to minimise the download. I really should have included the missing icons in the download. So that's what I have done. For those who have not played GOTM before, you really should take a look at the GOTM pedia. It is much better than the original. - Particulary the strategy section.
So, I have revised the PTW download again. Just hit the same link in post 2. The zip file will have a "b" extension. I wonder how high I can get that by Monday? ;)
Peglegasus Sep 17, 2004, 05:46 PM so if i load the test game and it works, is everything cool? or do i have to play it for a bit to really see?
AlanH Sep 17, 2004, 06:32 PM FWIW, AlanH has an upper case H. But the submissions system is not case sensitive.
mad-bax Sep 17, 2004, 07:56 PM Peglegasus: If you can see sheep at the start, and you can look up sheep in the civilopedia without the game crashing then you have set up correctly. If anything happens later in the game then it's because I've done something wrong.
AlanH: I really should have got that right shouldn't I?
ainwood Sep 17, 2004, 08:44 PM Me 'n' Karasu against the world! Might have to give Space & Zagnut a hurry up. Will you be joining us MB?
marconos Sep 17, 2004, 09:33 PM I'm up for another SGOTM run.
1. PTW
2. Yes on Variant

4. Any team is fine ... don't think my old team will be back. (Misfit)
a space oddity Sep 18, 2004, 02:05 AM Sign me up as well: staff team, PTW, variant only. ;)
zagnut Sep 18, 2004, 08:24 AM I'm in with the ever glorious, supremely magnificent and hoping to be #1, Staff team. PTW, Variant.
dcstevez Sep 18, 2004, 12:20 PM I'd like to join a team for the 5CC played on 1.29f. I'm on a PC if it matters.
I'm usually comfortable playing on emporer and I recently won an emporer game of 1CC with a 20k victory for Babylon. Unfortunately... I'm still pretty bad at micromanaging and military conquest.
Steve
dcstevez Sep 18, 2004, 12:47 PM I don't want to spoil anything... but the tribes in the test save from post 2 had some abnormal characteristics. Specifically... I... as the Indians was referred to as hannabaline and when I encountered the egyptions they were Ghandi. I just want to make sure that this doesn't reflect any problems with my setup.
thanks
Kaiser_Berger Sep 18, 2004, 12:53 PM All looks good on the list, except that I don't really have the option of playing Vanilla this time around. If it is really necessary I could download all the patches, but I'd much preferably play PTW. If that affects my team assignment, thats alright. Meeting new players is always a good experience

Don't worry about the leader names. It doesn't affect the actual game.

Ok... there were also corresponding changes in the characteristics of the civs. i.e. egypt started the game with alphabet and ceremonial burial for its techs. It's probably not important but I just wanted to make sure that there's no way the pediacons or some other setting could affect this.
ainwood Sep 18, 2004, 06:46 PM Great! :D Managed to entice the staff team back together for another little romp!
(MB???)
Peanut Sep 18, 2004, 09:15 PM Another assorted Civ Nut for Team Peanut ...
Sark6354201 Sep 19, 2004, 12:01 AM Requesting team alamo. Sign me up:)

If there are no objections, then I would like to play. :)

There really isn't a problem. or if there is, then this isn't it. :)
Northern Pike Sep 19, 2004, 05:43 AM I'd like to play (necessarily PtW), but not the variant. MB, if the 5CC proves so overwhelmingly popular that it isn't convenient for you to put together a non-variant team, no problem; I can wait for the next one in that case.

Here are the final teams - nearly. If there are any mistakes or omissions please let me know as soon as you can.
The game threads are now open.
grs Sep 19, 2004, 02:33 PM now we just need acess to the saves ;)
mad-bax Sep 19, 2004, 02:42 PM There is a timelock on the saves.
Sir_Ortin Sep 21, 2004, 06:17 AM With regrets I need to say that I missed the sign-up period for SGOTM4 game. :(
But, if there will be a chance to join (to replace a player, etc.), I'd like to do that. If there will be 2 holes (preferably in one team) I want to say that I have a friend who also want to try a SGOTM game.
mad-bax Sep 21, 2004, 06:23 AM Sir Ortin: Everyone is playing 5CC. If that is OK with you then please state the software (Vanilla or PTW) that you would prefer.
Please ask your friend to do the same. I will ask if any of the teams will accept another player. 6 players in a team is fine actually. About half the teams will experience a drop out, or an unreliable player (like me :) ).
I will do my best for you both.
Sir_Ortin Sep 21, 2004, 10:15 AM I have both Vanilla and PTW, my friend too.
BTW, his name is Alex Top. He must be registered in civfanatics forums.
Hope we will show our best in 5CC game. :)
Grayarea Sep 23, 2004, 03:05 AM Hi all,
I am a new player that is interested in playing a SG game. I am currently playing GOTM 35 and it was suggested that I may be able to take a spare slot in this game if one is available.
I have vanilla, PTW and Conquest. I don't mind which I play.
King Alexander Sep 23, 2004, 03:54 AM @mad-bax: if any team will accept 1 more player, put me in(I know, I'm late for this, sorry).
mad-bax Sep 23, 2004, 04:34 AM OK guys: To make things simple I will form a new team for
Sir Ortin
Alex Top
King Alexander
Grayerea.
This team may not be balanced, but I'm sure you will do well. I am away at the moment, and so I will not be able to provide a save until tomorrow.
King Alexander Sep 23, 2004, 04:47 AM It's ok if the team won't be balanced; we'll play for fun(or the wooden spoon!)
btw, mad-bax: it'll raise the moral of the new 3 members, if you name the team's name after the name of one of them, as it's their first SGOTM :king:
Grayarea Sep 23, 2004, 07:16 AM I suggest;
SGOTM4 - Were doomed
;)
I am a Cheiften player, on my first GOTM, and have never played a SGOTM.
So my input may be of limited use, and I expect we will need good discutions ;)
Can we agree to play PTW then? It will be simpler for all of us.
Sir_Ortin Sep 23, 2004, 09:47 AM To King_Alexander:
You are wrong a little. I have played SGOTM3 in Akots team. And despite that we lost, I take my piece of expirience from there. :)
King Alexander Sep 23, 2004, 10:05 AM @Grayarea: all the 4 members of our team have PTW, so if we all agree, we'll go for it and we'll play the variant (5CC), as all the other teams do(according to mad-bax).
All the members can offer valuable info/suggestions and we always discuss our strategy in SG's, so we agree on it.
For any questions, we'll post it on the thread, once it's opened: do not hesitate to ask for anything that you don't understand.
@Sir_Ortin: accept my apology :)
mad-bax Sep 23, 2004, 11:04 AM I will give all the details here tomorrow 12:00 GMT (ish). Grayarea will have the team name since it contains the fewest letters ;)
Have fun guys, and play nice. :)
mad-bax Sep 24, 2004, 07:25 AM Team Grayarea has now been added to the Game.
Your game thread is >>HERE<< (http://forums.civfanatics.com/showthread.php?t=100591)
dmanakho Sep 24, 2004, 03:33 PM SGOTM4 Setup for ALL PTW Players
Those people wishing to play SGOTM4 using the PTW software need to download >>THIS<< (http://www.civfanatics.net/uploads8/SGOTM4-PTWb.zip) file. Unzip this file into your Civilization/Civ3PTW/Scenarios directory. If you do this correctly you should find a new SGOTM4 folder in your Scenarios directory. If you wish to mess around with the resources files, then there is a readme file in this new directory that tells you how. Otherwise, you can just go ahead and play the game with the set of resources graphics I have provided by default.
So this is the link: SGOTM4 PTW Download (http://www.civfanatics.net/uploads8/SGOTM4-PTWb.zip)
Edit: Ooops... sorry I meant to post it in our team thread
If you've put it where you meant to I can delete it if you like.
Matternich Sep 24, 2004, 07:41 PM If there are any places or dropouts I'm ready to have a go.
civ III vanilla and yes to variant
Current level emperor/diety

Well, our Team-Grayarea has 4 players, and I told mad-bax that we might need 1 more member, because of possible skips/delays.
If it's ok with you, you could join us :)
Let's wait a bit, so mad-bax can notice it and put you on the roster.
btw: we haven't started playing yet.
P.S.: we had decided to play PTW, but, I think that all the 4 members could play Vanilla; I'll notify them and I'll report back.
Matternich Sep 25, 2004, 11:14 AM That'd be great.
thnx
mad-bax Sep 25, 2004, 11:29 AM I am still waiting for confirmation that the rest of the team is willing to download the mod. As soon as I get that confirmation I'll upload a 1.29f save and add Matternich to the roster. Otherwise, if you choose PTW, then Matternich will be placed on a 1.29f team and the rest of you can carry on. :)
Grayarea Sep 25, 2004, 12:42 PM Mad-Bax,
I think we have agreed to play a vanilla game so that Matternich can join us.
Please ad him to the roster and upload the new save game. Sorry for the hassle!
Grayarea Sep 26, 2004, 11:25 AM Oops, wrong thread.
