I've installed colonization (dos version) on my windows 2000 computer. It works fine (without sound) but it'll only run in full screen mode. That's not really annoying, but what is annoying is that the game crashes when I alt+tab. Or when someone sends me an icq message. Or when the screensaver is enabled.
On my previous computer I got it running in a window iirc. I guess this must be possible on windows 2000 as well, but I don't know how. I've already checked "run in a window" instead of full screen, but that doesn't really make a difference.

Here comes the magical word: DosBOX (http://dosbox.sourceforge.net/). An 486/MS-DOS emulator that can run Colonization; though I believe the sound isn't perfect yet. But you can run any DOS game in a window with it. ;)

How can I make the game run with sound in Win XP? Same program?

P.S. We really need a search function on this forum :)... I know we are promised one later btw, just saying :).
