Could Someone Give me Advice on Optimizing Production in Civilization VI?

I usually try to work on adjacency bonuses for industrial zones. Then slot in the Craftsman policy card, later 5 year plan. I like IZ's since I like the great engineers. If it is wonders you are after, try to pick up the wonder boosting ones. There are so many great engineers I like in this...

April Challenge Discossion Thread - Three Stars Each

I just hope it isn't any effort to make Civ into a "live service" game. It doesn't fit for this type of game, and the game was fine how it was before. I don't think the Frontier pack or leaders pack added much to the game. It may have been better actually at the end of Gathering Storm. As for...

April Challenge Discossion Thread - Three Stars Each

Not much to do on this one other than try to get a low turn victory. It's what I'm going for, though I usually don't do that, so I doubt mine will be that great.

    Favorite city-states?

Aukland, I love settling on the coast even if it's not optimal, and this makes it more viable. Valletta just because I don't like my land getting flooded. I do play games into the late eras, and global warming happens quickly. Cahokia is nice. Money and amenities, what's not to love. Amenities...

    Describe your most recent game

I'm surprised you got the enourmous map to work. Admittedly it's been a while since I tried, but I would always run into a permanent crashing problem at a certain point once enough cities and things were on the map, and my computer is no slouch. I have 32gigs of ram. As for number of cities, I...

    Ides of March monthly Challenge

Akkad being the most useful one. It's hard to get down there in a timely manner. I find that after being at war for a while, what usually happens is they are dragged into the war with you when the AI suzerains one of them. I save all my envoys and dump it into Akkad soon as that happens.

    Ides of March monthly Challenge

Turn 22? I guess I'd have to watch the video. It took me nearly 50 turns to ever march my troops over to his capital. I can't see how it's possible. As for the secret societies, no idea why they went for that. Maybe to spice things up. My first game I went for vampires, Roman vampires sounds...

First Human to Receive Neuralink Implant Says It Lets Him Play Civilization VI

Now I need one. Elbow pain limits my gaming these days. I even play left handed to give my right elbow a break. Luckily civ6 is a game I can play left handed.

Played again trying to play peaceful, turns out with teams turned on it's pretty easy for them to get a religious victory. So keep that in mind. Makes the peaceful game a little more difficult.

Finally get a chance for this one. The only interesting thing is teams are enabled, I haven't actually played a game with that enabled. Kind of funny seeing Romans conquer China. And getting Boudica Great General. Nothing too special on this one. With Caesar's bonus it's a cakewalk. With Akkad...

Is civ6 too boring? Tweak it and then tweak it some more

I don't actually know how to make a mod LOL. I guess I could learn, but I'm too lazy I guess. Editing files is something I've done since back in the civ2 days. Though I recommend creating backups. I often forget which entries I edited, and to get back to "vanilla" you have to do the Steam verify...

GP - How to Achieve them Faster.

I use a mod that does show how many turns it will take to get that great person. I have so many mods, I'm not sure which one is doing it. It might be the real great people mod I'm running, or maybe better reports mod. I'm not sure which one. It's been so long since I ran without these mods, I...

What are some of your "civ rituals"?

Looks at my above post, damn, I've been playing this game a long time. And I'm still playing it. When I get bored I take a break for a while, but sometimes I get back in the mood. As I've gotten older, I've slowed down in some ways. No longer drinking the beers and cranking up the thrash metal...

February 2024 Challenge - The Head of Cyrus

Got my 2nd victory. I will say if you are aggressive in expansion, you can snag the natural wonder Galapagos islands and hem him in in both the North and the South. Of course he jumps ahead by doing this, and it takes a while to catch up. But I had a nice epic war at the end, so that was pretty...

February 2024 Challenge - The Head of Cyrus

I tried a 50 turn victory for my 2nd game, it ain't happening. I got his walls down to 1/8, but ran out of melee units. He has a massive army including immortals. I do think I'll have to play the long game. As for my first game, I just went for his capital in the end, he had too many GDR's and I...
