    [GS] Crash on Assigning Trade Route

    Glad I found this thread. My current Civ 6 game crashing whenever there was lengthy pathfinding to be done was driving me nuts. I'm honestly kind of shocked that "make sure pathfinding works" wasn't on their checklist.

    If I wanted to up the frequency of events (and hopefully reduce the relative frequency of the two that always seem to fire)...what would I change? I'm assuming it is just a couple lines somewhere.

    This. I often jump out of a game to add a line in uniqueunits to do just this, but I'd be happier if AI also had a chance to do this.

    What about moving the ostrog to a castle replacement? Would need to be toned down a touch, but the border expansion would still be enticing there.

    Siege units are really, really slow in enemy territory. No defensive bonus from terrain. Agree that siege outshines archers right now, though. Giving archers access to a few more promotions/promotion chains would fix that. Survivalism, for example. Woodsman. That sort of thing.

    About 50 turns before my last long game started crashing to the desktop I stopped getting any events. 15 cities...but no events. Since then I've played 85 turns of one game and 25 of two others...no events, other than the event when a city is founded. So I've been trying to figure out what went...

    So...no guesses as to what is derailing? I did notice that I stopped seeing events about 30-40 turns before it died. Something just got corrupted on the way?

    So...I see a couple reports on Github of crashes to the desktop. I've been having similar issues...generally about 375-400 turns into a marathon game. Last two in a row, in fact. Unrecoverable...I can back up a turn or two and continue for a few turns, then it is crash city when processing end...

    How to modify difficulty settings?

    I've had no problems at all altering difficulty settings. Use the same process Gazebo described. I only play single player, and I usually start with Deity and simply eliminate the AI bonus vs. barbarians.

    Siege Units

    My current game was early enough that I could imply eliminate the set up promotion with a line of sql. Diagnosis: Works fine. Probably need to reduce siege unit defense some.

    Would it break anything to just make the "needs to set up" go away? No other changes, just nuke that rule. Siege units are still expensive. Still not optimal for anything other than crushing cities.

    Huge map(planet simulator), raging barbarians, 18 civs. Germans lost what I assume were their first two settlers. Ethiopia and Arabia were in the same boat. So...3 stacks? 3/3 out of the 3 civs that started closest to me. I run mods, but nothing that should affect the basic idea of not sending...

    Settler logic could use improvement, certainly. I often find stacks of captured settlers on barbarian camps.
