    Most versatile civ

Babylon and Korea are both very versatile because of their tech advantage. I'd say one of the most adaptive is Russia, though. You get a lot of room for error when it comes to resources, and some extra production as well. The UB is solid for military but also helps you grab up land, and cossacks...

    New DLC: Polynesia

Except that it's all water. If you count that all as territory, than the entire north pole might as well be considered part of Russia, and the Indian ocean part of India

    Weird mages guild graphics

I'm running Orbis and the City Style mod. In my game, Mage's guilds and the Catacomb Libralus are both white models- one of a tower, the other of a cathedral. Both are different from the normal FFH graphics. It's kind of annoying to look at. Is this a problem with Orbis or the City Style mod...

Jon Shafer joins Stardock to work on elemental

Congratulatios to him. Only one thing though- wasn't Elemental supposed to be kind of terrible?

    DoF-- worth it or no?

Yep- in my game I had America, England, Russia and France (me) facing off against Germany, Rome, and Japan (and Ottomans before they were killed by the English). Coincidence? I think not!

    Angkor wat description still broken?

So if you have Angkor Wat, Monarchy, and a Krepost in every city, you could have something like 20 times the cultural expansion, if my math is right, which it probably isn't. That's really broken.

Which Civs/Nations do you want in the first Expansion for CivV?

No Austria-Hungary. Including Austria-Hungary would overlap with at least 4 or 5 city-states, and I don't think that we need another European civ. Phoenicia would be really cool and be good for representing the Middle East.. but what leaders, cities, units, buildings and such would they have...

    New DLC on December 16

I like how they're spreading out with unique great people + improvements, but the new civs seem very specific. Incas are a hill civ and nothing more realy, and Spain is an explorer civ. Seems like Spain is more than a little bit OP. So far the new civs have been situation specific...

Basic noob help: balancing my Civilization

In the city screen, on the side, there is a specialist menu. For example, if you have a library, it will display the library on the side of the screen with its two specialist slots. You can have citizens work as specialists (such as artists, merchants, scientists, engineers) in these slots...

Basic noob help: balancing my Civilization

Welcome to the forums! 1) Build more pylons trading posts, and as soon as you can put banks, markets, and such in every profitable city. Improve every luxury resource you have. Don't build things you don't need to. 2) Luxury resources help a huge amount, and grab up as many as you can. There...

    ATCHUNG! Collaborate and Listen

I'd agree with China>Japan>Germany for military, but here's the thing: neither China nor Japan has a UA that also has major benefits in other areas. Germany's UA gives them more gold and makes it so they don't even need to worry about building an army early game, which saves plenty of gold and...

    Favorite Social Policy trees?

I really like Liberty, and I'm enjoying Order as well since in my game as the Greeks I have a huge overextended empire, but it's not actually militaristic. The reduction to building maintenance is a huge bonus, much more than it seems, and Communism is one of the best policies in the game.

    Strongest Social Policies (Top 10)

Can't believe Firaxis didn't think of this when they were naming the policies. Especially if you add in Big Ben, which is great for the US as well.

    Barbary Corsairs/Furor Teutonicus - Thoughts?

Furor Teutonicus is very powerful. It allows you to amass a large early game army and make money from it, while still being able to grow your empire and prepare your economy for the later eras. You can invest the extra gold in development. In the midgame you can use the Landsknecht to do some...
