If I can get ahold of any friends to experiment with, I shall endeavor to do so. But getting them together to play is like wrangling cats into a bag even at the best of times, much less now, so we'll see how that pans out. :crazyeye:
Yeah, I'm using the latest version, patch, etc. *nods*
I see, I see. Hmh. Aggravating. Having to have people rejoining the game every so often slows down the pace something awful. But, I'll sit back patiently and hope to see it resolved soon then. :)
Ahoy hoy fellow FFH'ers!
After a long hiatus meddling with various other things, I returned (as I always seem to do!) to Fall From Heaven 2 once more. Re-gathered my friends to kick up some multiplayer wickedness once again, but..
Alas!
We are assailed by problems. Chiefly, when playing...

Just had a very curious experience playing a game of FFH, using patch T. In one of the very earliest turns of the game.. I mean within the first ten, possibly even first five.. I encountered Capria of the Bannor with her cultural borders expanded to the degree they would be if Torrolerial had...
All of the suggestions given are valid in and of themselves, but hardly that applicable. When I'm on the offensive it will likely, logically, include some of my toughest units. But I can hardly just annihilate every enemy stronghold in the blink of an eye, and the enemy will have the advantage...
So.. I seriously need one or two good, solid suggestions what to do about the menace of Assassins, or for that matter any other unit that happens to have the Marksman promotion. It can't be that the only sensible way of protecting yourself from them is by having units with the Guardsman...
:p
Am I entirely senile if I claim that Forts used to upgrade themselves to Castles over time, even if the tile was not being worked by a city? I could have sworn that was the case, which made them significantly more useful since you didn't need to sacrifice a tile that a city could have used...
Next time, when I'm not dizzy from sleep deprivation, I'll go ahead and check the next scenario in line before I open my blabbermouth. :crazyeye:
Yeah, I know. That wasn't the problem. But I found the issue nonetheless, so all is well. :goodjob:
On an unrelated note born mostly out of idle curiosity.. How come the terrain in the Grand Menagerie scenario is not the usual FFH terrain, but rather normal Civ IV?
(and.. Did Falamar die...
So.. For some reason I can't play any of the scenarios. Every time I go into the scenario menu and click the little button to launch one, the game just pauses for a moment and then CTD's. I'd really very much like to try my hand at the scenarios, so can anyone toss me a hint as to what...
Ahh, wonderful. It was beginning to become a little frustrating and disappointing. But the FFH team is on top of it, as always! Hat's off to you, gents. Brilliant work! :goodjob:
So.. I started up a new game, playing the Sheaim but later converting to the Infernals. And 'lo and behold.. Come turn 361 or somesuch, the game crashes to desktop spontaneously in the middle of a turnover sequence. And changing what I do prior to ending the turn has no bearing on that...
Whew. Long hiatus. Life intervenes, the old usual. Anyway. Just checking out the new stuff, and as usual it is a lot of remarkably interesting things to tinker with!
I've failed to keep up to date with a lot of the changelogs and such, so I'm going to throw out a quick question before I get...
You also generate Great Commanders through some Wonders, World as well as National, just like any other Great Person. Tower of Complacency, Tower of Eyes, Heroic Epic, maybe National Epic (I forget), Dragon's Hoard and a few others.
Cheers!
Really?
I know I haven't made quite the effort I keep telling myself I should to read all the FFH fluff I can find and immerse myself even more into it, but.. I thought I knew it better than to have missed something ke-razy like that. :crazyeye:
Interesting!
The Sheaim civilization gets increasingly powerful as the AC rises.
Barbarian leaders (Hyborem, Charadon, Jonas Endain, Sheelba) don't need to worry about barbarians.
Units built in the Ashen Veil holy city get the Stigmata promotion for free, making them more powerful the higher the AC is...
