I frequently choose to play as the purple civ based on the idea that I can avoid the key civ penalty.
Is this erroneous thinking? Would I be better served by choosing a different color and tech gifting the purple?
I have the techs for Structurals and Components. Actually you only need Space Flight for Structurals. So that can't be the reason.
Warlord is awful easy. A top class EL player would launch much sooner than 560 BC. That is, unless there is some type of prohibition.

I haven't got a clue about what you messed up, but I'd guess that you can get around the problem by adding a buttload of city names. At least for a while...........could well crash in the end anyway.
Let me add myself to the list of those who believed that MGE doesn't work with Deity+ levels. Wasn't this the reason that the Deity+ succession games were played on Vanilla? For some reason, I had that idea.
I've had the declare screen with the barbs a couple of times myself. Can't remember the details, but, as a serial voyeur, i was most likely spyin'.
