I suspect it is not backward compatible. I might be able to fix it soon though.

I use the default code for placing those. They tend to appear along the line of volcanos. If you find a few of those some vents should be nearby.

That just looks like a lucky map too me. I would go with a 100 if you want to be sure.

Russia thinks that's a great problem to have. Just ribbin ya, usually large landmasses will touch a pole, sometimes they touch both. You never know. It's difficult to prevent without retreating a great deal from the poles. Come to think of it, this is adjustable by you. Check out this section...

Heheh, I assume you are the red guys. Maybe you can build a canal city down south? That would give you a big advantage. Yeah, there's nothing in PW that prevents the circumnavigation being blocked, what I do is send ships in both directions, you can still get the era score as long as exploration...

You can try adjusting the level of hills a bit with mconst.hillsPercent, and perhaps lessen the influence of the mountain map, which is used to create mountain ranges, at mconst.mountainWeight

There is an elevation map, but mountains in hills reflect differences in altitude, not actual altitude. For example, the Olympic Mountains next to Seattle are most assuredly mountains, yet the peak, at 8000 feet is actually lower than the lowest valley in Tibet. The hills might not be next to...

mconst.desertPercent. Lower this and it will lower the amount of desert tiles. However there are other things that will influence the amount of desert, such as the amount of land that ends up at the horse latitudes. So it's possible to lower that and then still get more desert on the next map...

I believe the marsh is working as intended. The more rainfall you have, there's an increasing chance to be marsh instead of jungle or forest, unless it should be snow instead.

Dang. Why would it work for me and not for you? I'm a little stumped right now. Do you have a lot of mods? Where are your mods installed? Maybe when pokeihl is home from work he'll have an idea.

Yes, you can adjust the minimum length of a river. Shorter rivers than this disappear. There is also an adjustible rainfall component, and the interplay can be a bit complex. Requiring longer rivers will limit rivers in the tropics, while turning down the rainfall will limit rivers in the dry areas.

The price is a bit steep in my mind, I was lucky and a nice person bought it for me, but it really is a good expansion. There are some cool civs, and other mechanic changes that work better in my opinion. Such as the grievance system.
