Advice on learning C++, which compiler?

gcc, of course If you want it compiled for Windows, my recommendation is to download and install cygwin, installing the gcc along the way.

Let's get real for a while - is the US dollar about to fall for good?

Well the US manufacturing sector could use this, and let's be honest Americans have been financing their trade deficit with an inflated dollar for long enough. And a sinking dollar will make it that much easier to pay what debt I have left in the States! Oh and gas will get more expensive...

Now all we need is a "Hannity and Colmes" national wonder so the Chuck unit can cover for Hannity one night on the show and make a fool of himself. edit: sorry about the necromancy

Small problem with the map grid while in globe view.

oh yeah and if someone can help me get better starting locations that'd be even better because what you see in those screenshots is pretty much standard for me, every time  edit: :(

Small problem with the map grid while in globe view.

Isn't that wierd? I've got no problem while in the normal view, as you can see below. If somebody else has had this problem and found a way to fix it please let me know.

Small problem with the map grid while in globe view.

I've got an Intel system with a GeForce 6600 GT installed. Game runs fine, no slowdown, graphics anomalies, etc., except for one thing. When I turn on the map grid in global view, this is what I get:

    Right/Left Wing- whos more racist?

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Southern_strategy It doesn't really apply anymore, having been replaced by the "Get-the-Gays" strategy. Is it coincidence that it applies to the same areas

    Why not just leave?

    You've convinced me! :king:

    Right/Left Wing- whos more racist?

Right-wing extremism is more generally associated with extreme nationalism so I'd lump them in with racism before I accused the left-wing of it. That's not to defend the more extreme left-wing nonsense; there are worse things than racism.

    To Whom It May Concern

What I'm taking from this thread is that the OP wants to ban smoking? COLD DEAD HANDS.

Either there is a God, or there isn't.

Yeah, and maybe the universe is really just a revolving superfluid duder. Honestly, it's probably just that England's first game in the World Cup tonight was a total disappointment, or that I've had a bit to drink, but I'm tired of your posts Birdjaguar. Just say something, ANYTHING, that has...

Either there is a God, or there isn't.

Are you agreeing with me here? How is this different from what I said before?

Either there is a God, or there isn't.

Well, with modern technology I couldn't even do that. The human brain can be mapped using non-invasive techniques to an accuracy of a single neuron, but not in real time. Moreover, we certainly don't know what each individual neuron is actually doing, and neither can we accurately map the...

Either there is a God, or there isn't.

I'm curious, could you give me an example of a facet of human sexual behavior that you don't think could be reliably modeled, if one had a complete understanding of human biology?

Either there is a God, or there isn't.

Whether most people share my "POV" about truth is irrelevant. It has no effect on whether or not it is truth. If you want to discuss the pursuit of truth, we can do that; if you just want to hold popularity contests then I'm not interested. Get back to me when your depth of understanding...

If Evolution was proven to be a fact 100% would there still be creatonists?

Evolution has been proven 100%. It is in no more dispute than gravity, yet there are still creationists. To answer your question: yes.

Either there is a God, or there isn't.

But it's the search for truth we're concerned with. As near as I can tell the only "truth" worth knowing is that truth which has a tangible effect on one's environment. Otherwise, why should anybody care? You said: And gave a negative answer to all three. I totally disagree, and would...

The Pirate bay closed by the stupid Swedish police

Sweden is fourth in the world for patents granted. http://www.nationmaster.com/graph/eco_pat_gra-economy-patents-granted I'll ignore your comment about India's film industry. Considering it's the largest in the world, I think it speaks for itself. That goes double for their IT industry.
