It never crashed before the patch (and I played Huge worldmap + epic speed. Since the patch it crashes constantly once the I pass 360 turns on a standard map+speed.
Perhaps it has something to do with the DLC as in those games the Incas were present (at least at the start).
You find avoiding ICS more boring than mindless cluttering the map with size4 cities?!? then why do want to get rid of ICS?
I find it quite easy and natural to settle cities only in usefull places so I have no problem to avoid ICS at all.
Would I be able to finish the game alot faster with...
It is the same as it is in your power to use it or not. Noone is forcing you to ICS and noone is settling your cities for you.
This is a Single person game. If you decide to use ICS you are in the same boat as one who uses God-mode. Don't complain if it makes your game boring or simple you...
I view ICS the same as the 'God-mode'-cheatcode in Doom (or similar games). There are people who love to use a cheat and win so let them! This is a SP so if people want to win by using cheats what does it bother me?
I don't understand those people that use this cheat and then whine about...
@Lightzy: The problem with your resolution is wahat if you get f*** by the resource-allocation? I had already games where my chunk of land was completly void of Iron, Coal and Alu.
As shown (and tested) in this succesion Game savefiles from the special version (+babylon) can't be opened with the standard game aöthough the original save was created with the standard game (so no Babylonians were in game).
This does divide the community for succession games and does not...
Is CiV eurocentric? Maybe so but even if it where it would be fully justified.
Look at the world today. European countries and culture conquered and colonized: both Americas, Africa, the fifth continent, huge parts of southeast-asia, and northern Asia.
With the exception of Africa and...
Have you alreadey built Mt Rushmore? If no its another -25% modifier if yes then you have the option to up the culture slider you have alot of cash in the bank and are still only running 50%science.
With the ongoing fights and conquering of enemy cities you can fund your research by captures ;)
I would say they were one of the great powers in Europe long before the got Spain and they stayed it for some time after they spanish Habsburgians died. Spain was only a very short part Habsburgian(1516 - 1700).
The various ethnicies were perhaps not one happy family (at least not during the...
Thats why I want a Habsburgian Civ not an Austrian. Austria was only a small part of that. But make no mistake the Habsburgian countries were a Civilization. You just have to travel through the old parts of their lands to see the similarities. No matter if the inhabitants spoke german, hungary...
All your examples are represented in the game with symbols/leaders that represent part of their important time. But the big dynastie which influenced Central Europe for several hundred years whose Leaders for good or worse build Europe for that time are completly non-represented. The 'nation'/...
Not really true. The German part of the HRE(= German Kingdom) was an electing Kingdom = the King got elected and only had so much power as he himself had land. The single parts (dutchies, Counties city-states) which made the German Kingom were quite independent and often quarreld with each...
2 condition to make the AP-win possible:
a) Every Civ must have at least one city with the AP-religion
b)you must not have all the neccessary votes alone.
It was a general comment over the last tech choices. Afterall Chemistry was discovered at turn 218 with steel being only 6 turns away (according to the screenshots). I prefer to go after steel and cannons instead of Mil Science and grenadiers.
My my what a nice blue looking continent ;) Although I'm abit surprised that you delayed Steel so long. As Cannons ar far better than Trebs steel is usual my first tech after chemistry.
In history tech-trading didn't really happen. On the contrary states often guarded their tech-breakthrough quite jealously (for example: secrets of making porcelain or silk).
Of course knowing that something can be made or a problem has been solved often helps the trailing nations to get the...
