So I should have been more clear. I'm not talking about expansion tyoe dlc that you get post release. I was specifically talking of day one dlc and 'gold' editions where the base game is very bare bones yet for another £40 at launch you will get the full game experience i.e. Game modes...
Loot boxes exploit gambling tendencies and should be regulated IMO.
The trouble is £60 isn't really the full game either regardless of micro transactions. The full game is the £100+ for the complete experience with all the dlc that has been carved out and would normally be in the base game...
As jim sterling says, even cosmetics behind a pay wall and the new worse loot boxes, is stripping game content. Once upon a time you could customise your characters etc as part of the base game, now you need to play or worsezpay and gamble to get the shades.
Micro transactions have no place in...
Hmmm. My forum experience has got much better there after they introduced the new forums. Putting people on ignore really cuts out the rubbish. There us still the odd person who really winds me up but now its manageable. Cfc is pretty unique in my experience as being a very good and mature forum.
Not sure it does mean ck3 is ramping up. I'd hope it was v3 instead or maybe an entirely new ip.
Also I'm not really sure who they are supposed to be nazi like. Their main issue is dlc bloat but at least you get major free updates as well.
I started a game up for the first time in ages last night, only looked in briefly since mare nostrum.
I forgot about all the things you need to keep an eye on.
The two things I forgot that really screwed me were the straight between africa and gib and that if the enemy attack you while you...
So another patch roles out yet I still see no real reason to reinstall and give civ6 another try.
I know there are ai and ui mods but that's no reason to not expect the devs to do significantly better in those fields themselves.
Maybe I'll see what the game is like in some lps with the new...
Well as Victoria says its the 'revealed' fog if war (I'd love a dog of war). After making the map bold and colourful I find the nasty bland obscure fog really jarring and it really reduces my pleasure as you spend all your time looking at the map. I also find it much harder to read the terrain...
In order of my preference
4, 5, 3/6. It's beeb so long since I played 2 I can't rate it I'm afraid and I never played 1.
6 has the potential to become the second best but there are so many faults with it that I'd need to wait at least a year to give it a fair rating. It will never over take 4...
Hi modders.
I'm wondering if anyone is working on a mod to change the fog of war. to be clear I mean the fog on the map you have explored but no longer have line of sight on, NOT the unexplored map. Changes I'd be interested in are making it more transparent, more colourful, less flat etc.
I...
Does the god awful and jarring fog of war count?
I don't mean the unexplored land thats fine, I mean the dull texture based fog of land you explored but can no longer directly see.
The fact that its a flat dull texture based representation makes it very hard (IMO) to determine what its meant...
Off topic but if you like the Reith Lectures you will probably like Radio 4's 'In Our Time' as well. Delves into many many interesting topics and there are loads of downloadable podcasts.

Well everyone already knew the ai couldn't handle 1upt so the devs took the obvious solution and doubled down on that by unstacking cities and making movement harder....
