    Idea for a random event

Been playing X2: the threat for the past few months. And in this game they have BBS mission you can take on for extra money. Well one is the revenge missions where X race asks you to kill a rogue enemy. I was thinking this would be a good random event for Civ 4. Say you get it if you meat...

    Can't get BTS to start

Still having issues with this. Anybody got any other suggestions? All drivers updated, have the latest civ patch, ran system check for errors, no known viruses on system according to micro trend. I'm having serious Civ withdrawal, any help would be a humanitarian effort.

    Can't get BTS to start

I've uninstalled and reinstalled everything. I have the latest patch and solvers patch. I click on the game.exe file and get a busy pointer in Vista. Then nothing happens. I try launching from GameComrad and it tells me that the program is running, but its not in Task Manager or in...

How to play with 34 Civs

Can someone give me a step by step(never done this before on BTS) walk through of the easiest way to get a custom game to allow 34 Civs and optionally colonies. The mod I was using is not 3.17 friendly. Any assistance out there?

Why couldn't Civ IV have the fun nature of Civ Rev?

Yes, the Caravans operate very much like you described. And they can be captured by enemy Civs. Your advisor tells you how much a caravan to a certain city will Yield. It maps the path and then you send it on its way. You can't negotiate with Barbs(great idea though. Loved that concept in...

Why couldn't Civ IV have the fun nature of Civ Rev?

Well maybe I'm just a dumbass then . And trade routes are not boring. I'm talking real trade routes as in Call to Power. Caravans are somewhat represented by the great merchant mission, but its too far in between.

Why couldn't Civ IV have the fun nature of Civ Rev?

I must be doing a terrible job of communicating my thoughts. When I say "FUN" its not the cartoon like graphics, but the concepts and presentation. Much of Civ IV feels too much like work. There is no reason we can't have caravans, trade routs, barbarian personalities instead of just units...

    Civilization V

I'd like to see Open Boarders only available for non-military units unless it's an Ally during war. If you want to move troops thru a neighbors land you should have to negotiate that. The country who allows the use of his land should get a diplomacy minus with the civ that the other is at...

Why couldn't Civ IV have the fun nature of Civ Rev?

I think you misunderstand my point....Civ IV like chess is the better game......but unlike Chess Civ IV doesn't use its grander scale to it's benefit. Armies, Barbarians, and worker interface are all things I feel Civ Rev presents better than Civ IV. All I'm saying is why would the Chef...

Why couldn't Civ IV have the fun nature of Civ Rev?

I have Civ IV BTS with patches and the Demo for Civ Rev. I'm sorry, Civ Rev is so much more fun. Armies, the worker system, the interface, even the Diplomacy seems so much more entertaining. Hell, popping a barbarian camp is even more fun. Why can't the PC games be built like this?

When have you said, "WOW"!! at the AI?

few games ago I had an on going Hostility with the Vikings. 32 Civs Continents. Anyway we did the sneak attack/war/peace dance for the entire game. So towards the late game, we've been peaceful for 20 turns or so so I'm thinking, maybe we have gotten a sustained peace. Next turn. The call...

    Reality War MOD

or you could just look at what is happening in Iraq. Road side bombs, IED's etc. There is nothing man made that is impregnable.

    Vassalage Era Limit

For instance I was thinking if you built NAFTA or the EU, you could have access to a free trade agreement with all Civs on your home continent. This would give you either a surplus trade route, or 10 % increase on trade income with those nations.
