    Civ 5 Reload Autosave Crash

Probably an issue with my system as new games doing the same now. New graphics card being installed this week. May solve the problem.

    Civ 5 Reload Autosave Crash

This has happened on my last two games and I can't seem to find anything online about it. When I reload the last autosave (or the previous three earlier saves), the game reloads, but gets stuck with a 'please wait' message over the 'next move' button. Also, the landscape is completely...

Civ 5 in Div X settings will not launch in Fullscreen

Just an update. I purchased a new TV. it is 1080p. My last one was 720. The game now opens in Full Screen as it should. The problem was the 720 screen it would seem. Strange. Thanks for the help. If you are having this a similar problem, I advise buying a new television

Civ 5 in Div X settings will not launch in Fullscreen

Thanks for the reply Tim. Just having to play on Direct X9. Can't understand it. It seems like such a simple issue that I don't have with any other games. Frustrating thing is, I thought I had solved it by changing the resolution in Windows 7. Much joy. Then it reverts back and I cannot...

Civ 5 in Div X settings will not launch in Fullscreen

This is a fairly common problem and there are various posts and suggested fixes to the problem scattered around the internet. I literally bought my PC to play Civ 5 and I cannot for the life of me get it to launch in fullscreen mode using Div X. It used to when I first installed from Steam...

    Video Settings iMac late 2010

To be honest, I was getting VRAM obsessed as from reading around, alot of people say that the 3D engine requires high VRAM to run. I have moved to considering a Mac Mini, but the VRAM only meets minimum requirements (258) and cannot be upgraded. I wanted a Mini to use as a media centre through...

    Video Settings iMac late 2010

You know what, I'm going to buy a PC. After alot of research, I've come to the conclusion Macs just can't compete on the gaming front. As much as I love Apple, I'm not paying twice the price for a machine that sucks when it comes to gaming. Anyone who is researching a Mac with gaming in mind...

    Video Settings iMac late 2010

From the posts I have read, it's unclear whether the lag is a systems issue or a problem with the Mac port. Is there a massive difference with high graphics settings, and is it playable at all with the high settings on? Thanks for the info. I can't really spend much more on the system. I...

    Video Settings iMac late 2010

I'm thinking of buying a very similar machine to specifically play Civ 5. How are you finding it? What size maps are you playing on? How is the end game running?

Great. A definitely step in the right direction. No more annoying stacks landing on my border.

    Scratched CD

I found the solution to this problem here... http://www.play.com/Games/PC/4-/3439123/Sid-Meier-Civilization-IV-Complete-Edition/Product.html

    Scratched CD

That's the thing, the disc doesn't appear to be too badly damaged (i've seen worse, my xbox chews up discs more severely). Tried on a different drive, an old DVD drive I had, but didn't get as far. Might try the idea with about a different computer, mount and transfer across. Worth a try. I...

    Scratched CD

Had to do a windows reinstall the other day and went to get my copy of Civ IV complete to put it back on the system. However, when I try to reinstall, the CD hangs at the same damned bit (moonlight dirge.mp3). I don't suppose anyone has a possible fix for this (other than buying the game...

    iPhones

It DID take a weekend to exhaust Civ Rev. I started playing it Friday afternoon, and had listed and sold it on Ebay by Monday (for more than I paid :)). The game is absolutely littered with bugs. The AI is simply ridiculously aggressive and stupid (it will surround your city with units...

I really wouldn't buy a PS3 purely for Civ Revolutions. It simply isn't worth it in my view. Borrow a friends console for the weekend and you will have more than enough time to exhaust the game. It just doesn't have the depth of the PC versions.

    Dancing bears???

Don't remember the throne room in Civ 2. Remember the game lasting longer than Civ Rev though. In fact, I've had ice cream that lasted longer than Civ Rev. Two days is how long before I listed Revolutions on Ebay. But that is the topic of a different thread

    Dancing bears???

Stopped looking and caring about the rewards sent to me after a couple of games. If the Sultan of Sway wanted to get my attention, he should have sent me a squadron of bombers. Nice idea though, and better than nothing.
