    [Development] Canonical City Location Suggestions

I think, Ankira, hands down. It was serving as the capital of the ancient Celtic state of Galatia (280–64 BC), and later of the Roman province with the same name (25 BC–7th century). The city is very old, with various Hattian, Hittite, Lydian, Phrygian, Galatian, Greek, Persian, Roman...

Maybe +1 food +1 commerce on the coast adjacent to any improved tile on the coast, including any city center tile while having access to the cotton resource.

I share your sentiment but sometimes you just need those hammers.

    Ancient Civs Proposals

Very detailed ideas here, with Andean world being the number one candidate for inclusion, in my opinion. There's concept of "cradle" of civilization (and this mod is named Dawn of Civilization, mind you). Cradle of civilization is a location and a culture where civilization was developed...

    Alternative Map during 1.18

Understood from OP, but this is more a discussion of map's dynamic feature (spawning city) rather than AAR.

    Alternative Map during 1.18

Oh it does? In what year please? There was nothing in 620 AD.

    Alternative Map during 1.18

Very very little. Plus, people roleplay sometimes, boost themselves via Worldbuilder, Polynesians arriving to Latin Americas , or Mayan/Toltec boats. Plus its s placeholder for the future nagging to get a proper Andean civ. Baby steps.

Intellectual joy for the player knowing that something is happening in the most important places.

    Alternative Map during 1.18

Me too. But currently it is bare. No human activity until arrival of Incas. Let's manifest likes with some activity in said region. At least ancient indy city?

    Alternative Map during 1.18

Norte Chico can be an Indy city at the start of the game, like Jerusalem, to make a point, I don't expect them to be a civ. But , for example, the Moche were a technologically advanced people who traded with faraway peoples, like the Maya, so you have some (limited) first millenium interaction...

    Alternative Map during 1.18

Could you please share your design philosophy on depicting Andean region for the big map/1.18? On Arabian start (620) there are 2 Mesoamerican civs, with possible Indy ciy but Andes are smooth and bare, not even city ruins. Since the early 21st century Caral–Supe (also known as Caral and Norte...

[BTS] Earth Equatorial Islands - a more accurate realistic map for Civ4 BTS RFC

Oh wow! We are talking about Civ7 but some people are still developing for BTS mods! I, for one, is one of them, well, I don't develop but I play and contribute. DoC has a perfect but small map and now it is in final stages of unveiling the new larger map, you can actually play it as well. Did...

[modmodmod] The Sword of Islam Reborn

I suggest Krepost (many games use it, including age of Empires). Bulgarian replacement for Castle slowly damaging enemy units in adjacent tiles, akin to Russian General Winter UP effect. Also adding additional 2 exp to mounted units. There was a reason for Byzantine inability to subjugate Bulgars.

Would you want to know more about Leoreth?

Lol, neither do I, but with post-tenure review policy in Florida tenure becomes less coveted feature. Strong union is the best way to insure job security!

Starving or whipping the periphery cities is the standard unimaginative technique used by human players to improve their stability. Obviously, there should be a price to pay and, at the very minimum, there's a price for whipping : long lasting unhappiness that will contribute to instability in...

Injured siege weapons (even at 1 HP) are still able to deliver full damage to city defenses (i.e. full 8%), while their attack or defense strengths are reduced accordingly. Could we fix the former, please?

May I ask why? I think in general and with university job in particular one would only be proud or at least indifferent about mentioning his or her very basic educational info.. :dunno:
