    I want my aluminum!

In many parts of the world, you would be correct. However, in the United States, it's most commonly spelled "Aluminum"; it's also considered an acceptable alternate in other parts of the world. "Aluminum" is the spelling used in the US version of the game.

What tiles should I settle on?

AFAIK, no, there is no defensive bonus for settling on a hill. City tiles are considered neither rough nor open for the purposes of calculating attack strength. However, settling on top of a hill ensures that your garrisoned archers will not have their line of fire blocked by other surrounding...

    Austrian Strategies

First off, don't try to use the ability the same way the AI does. The AI can afford to just annex every CS in sight because of their obscene happiness bonuses; a human player needs to be a bit more selective. If the city isn't in a good location and/or isn't going to give you access to new...

    Prophets and holy wars

Pretty much. AFAIK, if there is an Inquisitor close to the targeted city (within 2 tiles, I think), the AI will not be able to convert that city. Additionally, Prophets and Missionaries cannot move through other units, so you can block their paths with military units, or even Workers if necessary.

Civ's telling you secrets: did ever one come true?

I once played a game on a Small Continents map where Boudicca was my closest neighbor, the only other civ on my continent. She was penned in by mountains and only had room to settle two cities initally. I had a spy in her capitol because I figured she might try to attack me at some point and I...

CS BUG: Each turn, your influence will change by 0 until it reach 45

An exploit maybe, but it's not a bug; the way the numbers add up, it IS indeed possible (and relatively easy) for Alexander to reach a point where his influence with a city-state no longer degrades at all. I believe that the % reduction bonuses are each applied simultaneously to the base decay...

    How to use Isabella

Isabella does have two excellent midgame UUs that you can leverage; Conquistadors are definitely very powerful, but don't overlook the Tercios either. If there are no natural wonders nearby for you to take advantage of, just play as you normally would, letting your surroundings dictate your...

I Simply Cannot Grow a Wide Empire

14 cities by turn 80 is pretty impressive to me; I've had a hard time pulling off this kind of strategy myself. Do you just have all your cities pumping out Settlers for those first turns, or would you go for Monuments/Shrines first?

Anyone experimented with Peace Loving since the fix?

Maybe on very small maps, but on a Standard-sized map with 8 civs, there will be 5 religions available. Not sure exactly how that scales with smaller/larger maps.

    How to play on emperor?

Very enlightening. However, not everyone enjoys pursuing Domination victories.

    Gustavus the Warmonger

In my experience, he's a wannabe-warmonger who just can't hang with the big boys when it comes to the actual fighting. In most of my games that have included Sweden, Gustavus is usually among the first to be devoured by the neighborhood runaway. Even in games where he ends up surviving into the...

City state army #s / tech level

I had heard once that the CS'es receive any techs which have been researched by at least two civs. As for what determines how many units they build or how often they upgrade them, perhaps it depends on city-state disposition rather than being militaristic or not. (i.e., hostile vs. neutral)...

Do your Pantheons stays with you if you have all your land converted?

Your Pantheon becomes part of whatever religion you found. If a city is converted, it will lose your religion's Pantheon belief. Get it converted back, and you'll get your own Pantheon back. If you never founded a religion, you're probably just out of luck.

    Best Unique Abilities POLL

I'm going with Spain, simply because if you are the first to discover any Natural Wonder, it's very difficult to lose from that point on; the double tile yield is just gravy. Being able to use that 500 gold to immediately pump out a "free" Settler and start expanding is huge; there are few UAs...

I'm sorry but the AI is still pretty much the same

Nope. From Settler to Deity, the only difference in the AI is the bonuses (or penalties, below Prince) that it receives.

Spain's UA a little too good?

Finding just one natural wonder first as Spain can be enough to strongly tip the odds in your favor; that 500 gold can immediately buy you a Settler and let you quickly found your second or third city. Maybe it's just coincidence (or I'm imagining it) but whenever I roll up a start as Spain, I...

    Early game productivity

2-3 archers is all you should need to beat back any early AI rush. Focus fire on their melee units and pick them off one at a time so they can't capture your city.

Which is your favorite new map type?

I can't speak for anyone else, but in general, I am not a fan of "all-land" maps such as Great Plains and Amazon. I prefer maps with multiple landmasses and oceans.

    Great People Changes

To be fair, GGs are generated completely separately from other kinds of great people.
