Quick question on circumventing a Toroidial map

So toroidial is basically donut shaped, but the inner circumference is the same as the outer circumference?

Quick question on circumventing a Toroidial map

I was playing last night and decided to try a Toroidial map, since I have no idea what that is, and I just could not get the game to say "Hey look, you circumnavigated the globe!" Instead Gandhi got credit for it some 20 turns later. Is there a trick to this on a Toroidial map? Also what...

    Civ4 vs Civ5

I haven't seen this mentioned, but for me the big thing was the soundtrack. In Civ 4 it changed to reflect your era (also the look of your city and sometimes tiles wpuld change as well). This gave me a feeling of progression for my civilization. Civ 5 lacked this completely and I really...

    Cheese, or valid tactic

Perhaps the solution is to give a player that does this a large number of negative points in the eyes of the other AI, just as it would with other players. You scam an AI, and now the rest are quite unwilling to trade with you.

Civilization V - The one thing I honestly miss from Civilization 4!

I miss having an era-specific soundtrack, which is sad since the really put a lot of effort in to the music in Civ 5

Pre-emptive question on some stuff from the Bible

Just because we can determine what is right and what is wrong does not imply that we do. By that same logic, we are all capable of following the law of whatever nation you belong, so therefor we do not need police. People's judgement can become clouded with selfishness, pride, and other stuff.

Pre-emptive question on some stuff from the Bible

But by your own logic, I can't even control if I believe in free will or not, so how can you blame me? Then again, you don't have the free will whether to blame me or not.

    A question about Noah's ark.

Most Christians who reject "evolution" don't reject the idea of evolution in and of itself, they reject evolution as an explanation of how everything came to be. It's not like we haven't seen species evolve into similar species. We see species adapt all the time. Most Christians do not reject...

    A question about Noah's ark.

Because as I linked before, evolution can actually happen much faster than most people realize.

    A question about Noah's ark.

Actually, if you read the story more in depth, it wasn't just that everyone but Noah's family were naughty, it was that fallen angels (who rebelled against God with Satan and were kicked out of Heaven) had started breeding with women of the earth, and had tainted the human race by crossbreeding...

    A question about Noah's ark.

As a side note, the Bible says that God told Noah to collect 2 or 7 of every *kind* of animal, which would mean 1 species of cat would probably cover every lion, cheetah, leopard, etc. Using these numbers, there would actually be plenty of room in Noah's ark. Also, food might not have been an...

    A question about Noah's ark.

If you assume that 1 species of fish diverges in to 2 species, you only need 15 iterations (2^15). This means that a species would have 400 years to diverge in to 2. And as we have seen, Evolution can happen very, very quickly. I disagree... many supposed contradictions are...

Going for peaceful cult win, ending up in world war

Question regarding the negative impact of killing a Civ... last night I played a continents map where it was me and one other civ on the continent, and I wiped him out pretty early. If you kill a civ before either of you meet any other civ, do the other civs still know you've killed someone off?

    Tutorial Request

Hello! I have this idea for a tutorial that I would love to see made. Essentially I would love to see a step by step guide giving tips on how to progress to the next difficulty. I would make this myself, but I struggle on Prince :p Essentially, you would have tips for every difficulty...

BuShiDo - the Way of Exploit - Tackling 1 vs. 7 Deity Standard Pangaea

Sorry if this is a dumb comment, but in the first map, isn't one wheat beside a lake/oasis? Wouldn't that give it the same boost as being beside a river?
