My opinion of this mod, after much delighted astonishment at someone having such an idea of making such a thing, is that it needs more polish. The lack of writing in the "Dune'o'Pedia" and the lack of text in the submenus is the most glaring example of this. Not only will doing so make the mod...
i very much suggest you get Just Another Civ 4 Mod Chooser.
Its an excellent mod choosing utility. http://forums.civfanatics.com/showthread.php?t=200145
I'm playing a normal speed tiny game and am unable to choose a technology. I'm almost done researching fission (with %0 gold in research, it'll be done in 1 turn), but when i select another technology to research the game crashes. It doesn't matter what technology I select, the game always...
Rise of Nations is an RTS (Real-Time Strategy) game and thus I don't think you can really compare it to Civ 4. Its like comparing bread to a patio. Which is better? The patio because its worth more? The bread because you can't live without it? Anyways...
I find it a very enjoyable game, and...
I purchased railroads through steam (I bought the 2k games pack for 50 some dollars when it was on sale) and play it regularly on my HP Pavilion dv5-1004nr Entertainment Notebook PC (running vista).
I recommend buying all games through steam if possible, but that might just be because i tend to...
The AI is sometimes quite dumb, building useless forts on important resources. I never automate my workers. I don't suggest you do.
For my style, I try to balance food and production with the occasional hamlet thrown in.
Probability states that you will win %70 of all battles. It doesn't say you will win 7 out of 10 battles, or 70 out of 100. It just says you will eventually win %70. You could loose every single battle 1 day, and then win all of them the next.
Basic probability.
Trident submarines are only useful in case of a nuclear war....
they have no military value besides to carry nuclear weapons....
they are extremely expensive...
So no, they shouldn't replace them.
For clarification,
The traditional "Hello, World!" statement often used in programming demonstrations:
(And the newline character, since that is used often)
In c++:
#include <iostream.h>
using namespace std;
void main() //Some IDE's use int main()
{
cout << "Hello, World!\n";
}
In python...
I bought the 2k games pack with Steam, and was delighted to find Civilization 4 and civ 4 bts in it. I uninstall ed my civ 4 bts, but going through the steam game files I saw there was no mods folder? How do I get mods to work with this? When I try to install Thomas' War, the installer simply...
Use Thomas' War mod for the Next War techs in the random map.
It also contains many more things as well :)

Man.
I suppose the main reason would be that men are traditionally more violently inclined than women and this game happens to contain violence.
Then again, that hypothesis could be smashed down pretty easily with examples like "Well, what about World of Warcraft?".
Not practical because its a purely offensive concept. Blowing up your enemy's farm doesn't make the rice grow, not to mention that it could quickly inflame them and have them beat you up :(
This looks like an absolutely amazing mod. I would love to play it!
I downloaded the file, extracted it into the Mods folder c:\documents and settings\ownder\my documents\beyond the sword\MODS
I have windows xp. when i tried to load the mod, about halfway through i got the message: GFC...
